After Eid

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (qs), Sohbat – 8th August, 2013.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim

It is the second day of the Ramadan Eid. May our eid be blessed, may it be honoured. On each Eid, a dress of honour is dressed on people.

Let us listen to what kind of a statement Shah Mardan will make to his yaran. It is only a few words but what can we do? It is not from us but may we learn some adab from the holy ones. Welcome to you, you came with goodness. May we stay in goodness and leave in goodness. Go ahead O Shah Mardan, your yaran are your admirers. Dastur Ya Sahiba-l Imdad- the imdad/help of Shah Mardan reaches from the East to the West. What we will listen to here are something from the jewels holy Shah Mardan will grant us – let us listen to it. Let us learn something that gives us benefit. May our day not be spent in vain. May we learn something, which will save us from this prison of dunya and bring us near to the people who carry qudsiyya/holiness – near to the people who are like Shah Mardan and carry holiness. “Al-mar’u ma’a man ahabb.”

O our Lord, grant us a power… It is not right to say this directly to Allah Almighty. There are the holy ones who can give imdad- here he is, Shah Mardan. It is not for us to address Allah directly. It is not for us. Everyone should know his level. Marhaba Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. Marhaba, our grandson. Every person should know his situation/capacity. And what will we gain by knowing? Go ahead O Shah Mardan, what will we get? We will attain to the Ilahi Lutf/Divine Grants. Through whom? Through HabibuLlah. And how can you find a way to reach him? You find it through the holy ones like Shah Mardan. Look for them! Dastur Ya RijalAllah. Dastur Ya Shah Mardan. We are – “Wa Khuliqa l-‘Insanu Da`ifaan” (4:28)- created weak, Haji, meaning our power is according to our capacity. An ant too has a power. It is not expected to do anything beyond it. Along with this, that little ant picks and carries a little piece of food in its mouth. It does a duty, does a service. Just like this, us. The children of Adam – are mukallaf – responsible for an Order. Who is not obliged to keep the order is in the animal category. We are obliged to keep the Order. Therefore we should strictly & carefully know that Order.

And let us hear them from you- O Shah Mardan, your yaran admire you. How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful. O Lord, You dressed on us beauty, not ugliness. Allahu Akbar! He (swt) created Man beautiful. Shaytan got jealous of it, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. When shaytan saw that beauty in Prophet Adam, it got jealous & said “No, this is suitable for me”. Your Creator is Who knows what is suitable or not suitable for you. It says “No. This beauty, this Sultanate should be given to me”. Ya Rabbi, we don’t have any claim for sultanate. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. We have no claim to sultanate. The crown of sultanate was dressed along with the Caliphate but this is not our claim. “Wa ‘Idh Qala Rabbuka Lil-Mala’ikati ‘Inni Ja’ilun Fii l-‘Ardi Khalifa” (2:30) Allahu Akbar wa A’zam Allahu Akbar. O our Lord, forgive us. We should know ourselves. Who doesn’t know himself is an animal. Know yourself. Know your attribute. Know what you should do. Know what you should accomplish too. This is an important matter. Ok, he said about this matter-

Shah Mardan Hz says: “O my yaran, let us say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim”. Without saying Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim these doors don’t open. Allahu Akbar. The key to any door is Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. O our Lord, Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim- may we also say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim from this holy language of Shah Mardan. But we can’t say as he says it. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. It descended on Prophet Adam once. It descended on Prophet Noah once. How many times it descended on Ibrahim (as)- Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. It descended & again was raised – the Bismillah. It made a service- saved Prophet Abraham from the fire of Nimrod. Noah recited the Bismillah & it saved him from the flood. It saved from the fire of Nimrod. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Huuu.

“‘Innahu Min Sulaymana Wa ‘Innahu Bismi Llahi r-Rahmani r-Rahimi” (27:30). The dress of azamat/greatness in which Prophet Solomon dressed, no other Prophet dressed in, our son Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. He would rule over the Men & Jinn with the Bismillah. Yes. When that holy letter went to the Queen of Sheba, the throne of the Queen of Sheba shook! Why? In the letter, “‘Innahu Min Sulaymana Wa ‘Innahu Bismi Llahi r-Rahmani r-Rahimi”. Her throne, her crown got destroyed & she, herself fell down to sajda. O People of the Book- who believe in the Bible, who believe in the Torah- are these stories not written in your Books? Yes, Prophet Solomon- that you call him “King Solomon”, King Solomon, Sulaiman, Sultan Sulaiman- the beloved servant of Allah who more than the other Prophets held the zahiri/external power & ruled over Men & Jinn. They make us say it (this Verse) over & over so that the barakah comes on us too. “‘Innahu Min Sulaymana”- this holy letter came from Prophet Solomon. “Wa ‘Innahu Bismi Llahi r-Rahmani r-Rahimi”. “Wa ‘Innahu Bismi Llahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim”. Prophet Solomon was dressed with the dress of azamat and the sultanate, which the Queen of Sheba claimed, fell to the ground, nothing remained of it. Allah Almighty granted it to the servants of the nation of Muhammad (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam).

“‘Innahu Min Sulaymana Wa ‘Innahu Bismi Llahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim”. He (swt) granted it to us. He (Solomon) used it once and it was enough for him. He (swt) permitted us to say it all our life for the honour of His Habib (sas). “Iqra’ Bismi Rabbika Lladhi Khalaqa” (96:1) Read with the Bismillah. “Iqra’ Bismi Rabbika Lladhi Khalaqa” (96:1) Read with saying the Majestic Name of the Creator. “Read!” “What should I read?” He (swt) said “Read! Read O My Beloved”. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. So in assemblies like this we attribute it to Shah Mardan. We say “We also need an adab in this life. What should be our adab?”

What is our job in dunya? To eat, drink & then to fill the toilet? What is this? Is this our job in dunya? Say O people of the Book! Let their Pope say it. Let their Rabbis say it. Is our job in dunya to eat, drink & fill the toilet? Say the truth! Is that it? Did Allah create you for this? A’udhu biLlah, a’udhu biLlah. “Wa Ma Khalaqtu l-Jinna Wa l-‘Insa ‘Illa Li ya’buduni”(51:56). I created Men & Jinn only to worship Me. How do you attain to the level of servanthood? Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, it can be reached through the rank of knowledge given to the people. Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar wa Lillahi l-Hamd. Say O scholars of Islam! Why don’t you say this to the Muslims who are wandering in the streets? Why don’t you say it, O who say “I believe in Torah”? Did Prophet Moses make weapons, cannons against Pharaoh? Why should he have needed any weapons? Prophet Moses was dressed from the azamat of the Bismillah, for this Pharaoh got destroyed along with his throne.

Say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim and all your difficulties open up, O children of Adam. Don’t fear from each other, fear from Who created you. He is the Allahu Dhu-l Jalal. If He (swt) gives permission one of you can strike & finish all of you. Azamat! Allah is Who dresses the children of Adam in the dress of azamat. There are some who wear it & some who don’t. The ones dressed with it are unknown. The ones who are not are in the streets.

“‘Illa Li ya’buduni”(51:56). I created them so that they worship Me. You are not created to search for gold, silver on earth; not for claiming wealth, nor for killing, destroying, burning each other. Shame on the Book-given people that they are not saying this and very few from the people of Islam say it either. “I created the people & may there be Sultan for them”. One can’t fight against a Sultan. Can he? How can you fight against the Sultan? You are an ordinary person. You don’t have much of a specialty. How can you fight against a Sultan at whose door you stand? What does it mean? Man is Man with his respect. Who has no respect has no adab. Who has no adab is animal. One feels sorry that the people of today do not know their glory. Allah Almighty said: “Wa La Taqtulu ‘Anfusakum”(4:29). Is it not like this? There is the Order that says “Don’t kill”. How can you violate the Order? Did Allah Who dressed you with the dress of Sultanate, make you Sultan so that you could kill His servants? Hasha.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan, your yaran admire you. May we be clean, may we be beautiful. May we be filled with love & longing. May we be filled with the love of our Lord. Through whose way? Through the Prophet of the end of times (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). Learn adab. “Addabani Rabbi” Teach this O scholars of Egypt! Why did you not teach these people adab? Some said “Ikhwan”, some said “apes”, some said “animals”. Hasha. Why don’t you say “Insan ‘ala wazni Sultan”- Man is Sultan. Sultan is a person who is worthy of respect. Did Allah dress us with this sultanate? Yes, He did. If He did, then keep it. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Masha Allah. You are Subhan Ya Rabbana, You are Sultan Ya Rabbana. Increase us in strength O Shah Mardan. May we be beautiful, may we be clean. May we be courteous. Well, now in this time, I am looking- People have nothing to do other than the way of adorning their egos and satisfying their animal desires. How do you tell? There is no religion, no faith, no Islam. What is a man who has no religion, no faith? Not responsible. Who is not responsible is animal.

Say O Pope! Instead of making cross like this, say a few words. What did Prophet Jesus say? Did he tell you to build churches and to make bell towers for them? Ding dong. Ding dong. Ding dong. Ding dong. Which Prophet did this? Which religion has this ringing of bells? Upon which order did Prophet Jesus tell his nations to make bells? “Make bells & ring them”. Bell is a rattle hanged on the necks of animals. It is not suitable for Man. Address the Man in the language of Man. Say O Pope: “O people, come to Your Creator for servanthood. Leave the fight. Because if this world is yours today, it will be someone else’s tomorrow. Don’t be greedy for this dunya”. Because Prophet Jesus came having one dress & left having the same one dress. Allahu akbar Allahu akbar. Did Prophet Jesus have a 2nd dress? Allahu Akbar. What a Sultan he was. He came to teach the nations, the people, the ways reaching to the Haqq/Truth. Who didn’t accept the Truth stood against him, didn’t want him. Who didn’t want him are shaytans.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Our situation is evident to you. There is no need to explain, you see our situation. Shaytan stripped Men out of their humanity. They follow shaytan but don’t follow the Order of ar-Rahman. Allahu Akbar ‘Azamu wa ‘Ajal Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. He (swt) is not pleased with this situation of ours. The people who live in this time, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, for their desires, meaning for their own egoistic desires… Ashar ma ‘ubid, ma ‘ubid the worst that was ever worshipped. The people who follow their egoistic desires are the most evil ones, it says. Is it not like this? You may correct it. Did Allah Almighty tell you to build tall buildings, wear beautiful clothes, follow the fashion, expose your body? O Muslims! What is this situation of yours? You celebrated Eid, fasted Ramadan but now that Ramadan has passed, again you returned to your old life & made a mess out of it. You forgot your situation in Ramadan & again fell into those dirty holes. Their women into one kind and their men into another kind. They are like the herds who don’t know what they are doing.

Well, the one who is the head of a country read a khutba in the Eid celebrations- his own khutba: “O people! We completed Ramadan. Now it is Eid & what were forbidden in Ramadan are now allowed/mubah”. What did they allow by calling “mubah”? They allowed all kinds of dirty things, all kinds of it. The people- the people of the Muslim countries again started running after eating, drinking and dressing up. Meaning, the religion of today’s people who claim to be Muslim is- “ashar ma ‘ubid hawa n-nafis”.(The worst that was ever worshipped is the whims of the ego.) What is their religion? To do the things they like, they enjoy & to satisfy their egoistic pride. So women & men, they plan & count like this to carry out their dirty egoistic desires: “Ramadan has passed. Let us now dive into the sea, go to the shopping places & wander in the gaming halls”.

Shame on them. Allah didn’t create Man to play. Collect yourself. If you don’t, the one who will collect you, will come. May Allah forgive us. May Allah forgive us. After Ramadan passes, it goes back to the same routine- “Do what you want, don’t fear”. And then? “Duribat ‘Alayhimu dh- Dhillatu Wa l-Maskanatu” (2:61). Is the Verse not like this? On the necks of these children of Adam “maskanat”, they are miskeen (miserable). “Zillat”, they are zaleel (humiliated) and miskeen (miserable). There is no clean person left who may walk upright & straight and stand ready in the Presence of his Lord. For this, “They were covered with humiliation & misery” (2:61). There is humiliation & misery on all the people. They are humiliated. This- “Duribat ‘Alayhimu dh-Dhillatu Wa l-Maskanatu”- now a bridle of humiliation is put on all the people, because of this they say “we are tired of carrying this. Let us not carry it & find another method”. What other method can you find? When you reject the honour Islam brought, can there be any honour for you? You can’t find any other way or method, you only go corrupt.

“Duribat ‘Alayhimu dh-Dhillatu Wa l-Maskanatu”- Whole world is wandering in the streets in a humiliated state. There was no such a thing before. They are both humiliated & miserable. They all have some kind of a disease- all of them have some kind of a bad disease, women have a different one and men have different. And as a punishment, there is humiliation & misery for them. A believer is high, he is exalted. When Allah Almighty gives a punishment to His servant, Jaza’an wifaqa, He (swt) gives a suitable punishment. Let them keep shouting, screaming. Let them fire cannons, burn, destroy. There is nothing they gain nor is there any goodness in what they do. One day they will hit them too. Allah will humiliate the ones who humiliate the people. Allah made the people aziz/strong, granted them a high rank- granted a rank higher than the angels. When you make them low, there will come the people who will make you even lower. O our Lord! May you dress on us a dress from the addressing of Shah Mardan who keep the ways of adab & teach them to us. May You dress on us the honourable servanthood dress that descends on the Kaba Al-Mu’azzama & expel the ones who strip it off & throw it away. Many threw away the dress of servanthood & become an animal to their dirty egos. They have no other job. “Whatever I like, I do it”, they have nothing else.

May Allah not make our faces ugly. May our faces not get ugly & also may He not throw our hearts into dhulm/ darkness. Ask for it. Let us say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim, march and do not fear. Fatiha.

“Where are you going to?” “I’m going to the tomb of Abu Ayyub Sultan”. “Ok, but what is this? Your dress was different yesterday”. “What can we do? We go to Abu Ayyub Sultan covered”. “Well, will he even look at you? You uncover for who looks at you & cover for who doesn’t look at you”. This is the doing of Turks- They go covered for visiting the awliyas and then after that, they open up like roses. It is a shame, one can’t be Muslim like this. “Duribat ‘Alayhimu dh-Dhillatu Wa l-Maskanatu”- Humiliation & misery fit them perfectly, they are dressed with it & they are all humiliated & miserable. Collect yourself. O nation of Islam! Be shy from Allah! Be shy from His Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam)! Collect yourself!

May Allah forgive us. O our Lord, send us a Master who will collect us, send us one like Shah Mardan.

The Takbir of Eid

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Before Eid Prayer (Eid ul-Fitr 2013), Mawlana congratulated all of us and explained the meaning of Eid and the value of Takbir.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim qs

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (qs), Sohbat – 8th August, 2013.

As-Salamu alaikum, O yaran of Shah Mardan. The ahbab of Shah Mardan, may Salam be upon you. On this holy day when Ramadan Sharif is completed, may Salam be upon the believers who are ready to celebrate Bayram/the festival.

Madad Ya Sahibu-l Maydan, Shah Mardan. May you grant us from your holy words. Your yaran are your admirers. May we kiss the hands, the feet of our Master who is the Fakhru l- Ka’inat, the pride of all Creation (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) and may he grant us his intercession and compassion. This is a sohbat from Shah Mardan. It is according to our level, our capacity. If we pass beyond our capacity, it is of no benefit. Welcome to you, O yaran of Shah Mardan. Marhaba to those who attend the assembly of the lovers of Shah Mardan. O our Shah Mardan, the Lion of lions!

Mubarak the feast of Ramadan Sharif. May it be mubarak for you and mubarak for us also. Come in- O yaran, O ahbab. Kunu Ibad’Allahi ikhwana – the servants of Allah are are brothers. Let us say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim- remember the Majestic Name of our Mawla, and that He accepted us for His servanthood. He  (Subhānahu wa Ta‘āla) dressed us with that honour. Let us praise, thank our Lord. Let us put our foreheads on the ground for sajda. Even if there was no order to make sajda, to prostrate before Who created us, to make sajda for Him is the glory/shan & iftikhar/ pride of the people.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Today is the first day of the Ramadan Feast- it is Bayram (Eid/Festival). What have we done that it came to be a festival? We have done/accomplished something according to our capacity & Allah Almighty is paying in return. The great Angels are surprised in the Heavens- “These children of Adam are on the streets this morning. They are rushing somewhere all together, with such joy”. Subhan Allah. Come in O Muslims. There is a shadumani/happiness. You can’t see, you can’t celebrate this happiness, this joy every day. Shadumani, it is bayram/festival. The servants of Allah put on their clean dresses, put on their new dresses and they are walking in the streets, in crowds at the time of dawn. To where are they walking? They are going to the Diwan/Assembly of their Lord to make sajda for their Lord, to make shukur & to find the joy of being forgiven by chanting Allahu Akbar.

What is the day today? What day? Do you not hear it in the streets, in the dawn? in the mosques- “Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La Ilaha Ill’Allahu w’Allahu akbar Allahu akbar wa lillahi l-hamd”. Allah. “Dress on them” He (swt) says, “dress on them barakah/blessings- dress on My servants from the barakah of Heavens that they are magnifying Me. They are saying “Allahu Akbar”. Dress on them, dress on them from the Nurani dress of Heavens that they may be pleased. Their Eid may be mubarak. O Angels! You also join them. You also say the Takbir”. The Islamic nations are gaining majesty with Takbir. They are – the servants of Allah- are walking through the streets arrayed in lines. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La Ilaha Ill’Allahu w’Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar wa liLlahi l-Hamd.

The Malaika Kiram, the great Angels also join them and set off an uproar in dunya – whole dunya is in an uproar- dunya is shaking with the Takbirs of this holy day, the Eid of Ramadan. Allahu Akbar! They shake dunya like the rocking of a cradle. Listen to the words of the holy Shah Mardan and walk with him. Ka’anna, ka’annahu- you will be as if you walked with the Shah Mardan. Al mar’u maa man ahabba. The person is with the one he loves. Love and you will be loved. You should know who to love. O our Lord! Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La Ilaha Ill’Allahu w’Allahu akbar Allahu Akbar wa lillahi l-Hamd. Dunya is shaking, from every direction. On the oceans the Angels who are appointed for the oceans as well as the holy ones, the murabit (saints appointed to look after a particular place), are reciting the Takbir. Not only these, but there is the group who are not responsible yet they even recite in their own language, the poor ones. Takbir is not for them but they have their tasbih / praising. “Wa in min shayin illa yusabbihu bihamdihi walakin la tafqahuna tasbeehahum”. (17:44)

Everything has its tasbih- they have their tasbih, their tazim/glorification of their Creator. “Subhan Allah, Subhan Allah, Subhan Allah”- there is not one atom that does not say this, S. Mehmet Effendi. The Angels of the Seven Heavens on this holy day of Eid- the voice of each one of them is like the voice of the Angel of Ra’ad (the angel responsible for thunder & rain)- recite the Takbir. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La Ilaha Ill’Allahu w’Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa liLlahi l-Hamd. How beautiful. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. How beautiful. What a beautiful day today is. To where are all these people going? They go magnifying their Lord. The children of Adam magnify & the rest of the creation praises / makes tasbih.

So it is today that Shah Mardan said these few words to us. O holy Shah Mardan. Man is the Hz Insan. His maqam/station is high. He is the Caliph on earth. So one should appreciate the honour of Man accordingly. Man should appreciate the honour of other Men. Who doesn’t know this falls down to the category of animals. Who know the honour rank of Man- they are dressed especially with a dress from Heavens. They are dressed with a new dress of Eid. There is no value in dunya (wordly) dresses. We didn’t do anything, but in Allah Almighty’s Presence, our simple glorification, praise and exaltation is accepted. An order is coming – dress My servants who are making Takbir with a dress of Eid from heavens. What a dress it is. That is why if people knew that rank, they wouldn’t stay in the stable of animals. They would run to the assemblies of the Yaran (beloved friends) of Shah Mardan while reciting Divine Takbir (Allahu Akbar).

What a nice day. The Angels are in the streets. Where are they going? They are going to make Shukr Sajdah (prostration of thanks) to their Lord. They are the ones who value Holy Ramadan. They did what they could according to their capacity. Don’t give them from the dress of dunya. Give them… Today everyone wears new dunya clothes too, in order to show appreciation for the value of this day. They wear their clean clothes, even if it has patches. They wear their clean, new clothes. Where do they go while saying Takbir? They are going to do their servanthood for their Lord and give praise.

Madad Ya Shah Mardan. Shah Mardan is giving his Yaran good tidings – Today, you are going early in the morning while making Takbir. We won’t leave you with patched clothes; we won’t leave you with dunya dresses. You will be dressed with the dress of honor from heavens. That’s why they go with joy. They go with hope and return with joy and they will find everything.

Welcome our Yaran (beloved friends). May your honor be forever. May you live a nice life. May your life in dunya be a nice life, a sweet life, an honorable life. O Shah Mardan, go ahead. Your Yaran admire you. Those who love him are his Yaran, his beloved friends. Let’s love and be loved. Those who love are loved. Love Muslims. Defend/ support Muslims. Stay away from those who are far from Islam. Don’t give them your hand, don’t be close to them. Allahu Akbar. Be close to those who love Islam. Stay away from those who don’t love Islam. Even if they have a treasure like Qarun, don’t be close to them, don’t ask from them. They can’t match Islam’s honor, beauty, richness, lights, Islam’s holiness and blessings.

O Muslims, listen. Let’s listen to Shah Mardan. This is what he is saying. Love so you can be loved. Love Allah and run to Him. Love our Master and run to him. Run away from those who don’t love them. Don’t go, O Muslim, don’t go to those who don’t come to Islam. Don’t beg from them. Don’t deal with them even if they give you money. Keep the honor of Islam, and Allah Almighty will send you grants like rain. Subhan Allah, Sultan Allah. Our Lord, our Sultan, our Lord, our Subhan, who did He dress with those attributes? He dressed our Master (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). Awliya (saints) call him – Fakhru Ka’inat/ Pride of the Universe. Look at our Master, the Master of the Universe (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). Don’t look anywhere else. Even if they pile gold in front of you, kick it aside and leave it. The love of the Pride of the Universe, and his honor is enough for us. O Turks, you have become bewildered. O Arabs, you have become confused. You are running after democracy. That is a WC. Whoever falls in it will drown. Come to the clean way. We are Muslims. Don’t search for anything other than Islam. There is no honor in that. Honor is with Muslims. There is nothing for them outside Islam.

O our Lord, give us strength. O Shah Mardan, may your words be a cure for those present. Let’s fill our mosques. Let’s say – Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La ilaha illa Allah wa Llahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa liLlahi l-Hamd. How nice. Today is the day that special mercy comes down from heavens to those who kept the orders during the holy Ramadan so they can celebrate and pray 2 rak’at. MashaAllah, mashaAllah. Let’s appreciate it and dress with Islam. Let’s dress as Muslims. You can’t find any other dress as beautiful as the dress of Muslims. You can’t find the dress of Islam or dress of Muslims anywhere else. Those who see you should know that you are Muslim.

Our Lord, our Subhan, our Sultan, for the sake of Your Beloved Habib (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam), You gave us all these blessings. Let’s love You. Let’s walk on Your way. Let’s find honor on Your way. There is no honor on any other way. Say – Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar la ilaha illa Allah wa Llahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa liLlahi l-Hamd. Eid prayer is with Takbir. How nice it is with Takbir. And now, today, it is almost time for Eid prayer. These few words from Shah Mardan are enough for us. It is enough for the whole world and for 7 worlds. Let’s say – Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar la ilaha illa Allah wa Llahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa liLlahi l-Hamd. Al-‘Azamatu liLlah.

Yesterday, the whole universe trembled like this. And there was the glorification & exaltation of the Angels. Go ahead, our brothers, make dua (supplication) for us too. May your honor increase. Man’s honor is from Islam. There is no honor outside of Islam. Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammad Sayyidi l-Awwalina wa l-Akhirin. Salat and Salam to our Master who is the Sultan of sultans. May it be easy for us to follow the ways he showed us. May our faces be full of lights and our hearts pure. May our end be a good one. Go with clean ones. Don’t open your hand to kafir (unbelievers). Don’t wish anything from them. Say “Allah” and go. Say “Allah” and set out. This is enough for today. Today’s explanation and pronouncement could continue until next year, but this is enough. Our Khalifa (representative) Sheikh Mehmed Effendi will give a talk and others will benefit.

Pray for us too.

Don’t cry.

Laylatu-l Qadr, Laylatu-l Qurb

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (QS), Sohbat, 3rd August, 2013.

There has never been anyone who opened his hands (for help) and returned from the Sultan’s door empty-handed. Sahhih ‘akidataka- Correct your belief.

Welcome to you, O yaran Shah Mardan. O holy one! May you teach us, we came to be taught by you. If you hit the right side of an untrained donkey, it goes left. If you hit its left side, it goes right. It is not trained. There should be a training. Madad Ya Rijal Allah, madad Ya Shah Mardan. O yaran Shah Mardan. May we be beautiful. May we be sweet. May we be majestic. They don’t use a mangy donkey at the door of the Sultan- Sultan uses a Kuhaylan (Arabian horse). Our Janab-i Mawla is the source of Lutf-ul Karam (Generous Grants) and we ask to be majestic, not miskeen (lazy & helpless). We are at the door of such a Sultan that being miskeen is not suitable, being majestic is suitable. One should know this. One should learn this.

Yes, the Sultan does not use a skinny horse at his door. He has a kuhaylan that scares the lions- the Sultan- that even a lion is afraid from it. Who can’t scare shaytan is in the category of trash. Madad Ya RijalAllah, madad Ya Shah Mardan. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Your yaran are your admirers. Slowly, Al ‘ilmu bi’t-ta’allum. Knowledge is gained day by day, no one can learn in one day all at once. Bi’t ta’allum- wa l-hilmu bi’t ta’allum. Is it not like this? Come in, welcome to you the ahbab of Shah Mardan- who are filled with the muhabbat/ love of Shah Mardan, who ask Nur from Shah Mardan – welcome. You came to such a door that has no equal, no like.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. We are weak servants. ‘Abiduka dhu’afa, qawwi dha’fana bi Quwwatika Ya Rabb. We are weak servants. “Wa Khuliqa Al-‘Insanu Da’ifaan” (4:28). Is it not a Verse? Man was created weak. Qawwi dha’fana fi Ridak! O our Lord, may You remove our weakness. O Shah Mardan, may our weakness be lifted off us. May we be like the kuhaylan of the Sultan, may we not be in the category of miskeen donkeys that go and after a while fall down. May we be a kuhaylan that is worthy of the Sultan. Masha Allah. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. May you go ahead and explain to us, so that we understand. Yu’allimuhum, ta’allam wa ‘allim. Even if you don’t know, learn and teach. What should you learn? Well, what did we learn? To plow a field. What did we learn? To shepherd. What did we learn? To be a doorman. There are 360 crafts in dunya. Who doesn’t believe it can count, right S. Mehmet Effendi? There are all kinds of talents. What is the best of talents? Go ahead O Shah Mardan, your yaran are your admirers. Let them hear it. The best of the talents is adab.

No one has managed to draw close to his Lord by taking a way other than adab. Shah-i Jehan- our Master, the Sultan (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Addabani Rabbi- My Lord taught me adab”. And it continues- “Wa qarrabani- and brought me close – nearness to Allah, my Lord taught me this (Adab). I didn’t learn it from anyone else. Addabani Rabbi- He taught me the adab for being close to His Essence/Dhat-u Ajalli ‘Ala”. It is the assembly of Shah Mardan’s lovers- no one has ever come empty and returned empty from that assembly. Everyone has received a share. May we take a share too. Khudh naseebak/Take your share. Allahumma qawwi dha’fi fi Ridak. We are weak our Lord.

There are lions of Yours who can remove our weakness. There are holy servants of Yours who can teach us adab. Each adab is a level and there is no end to the levels. Who are in the category of donkeys continue with their donkey-ness. They don’t ask to be a horse, don’t ask to be a Man either. “My situation is good like this, I am comfortable” they say. They carry burdens and they bray too. They scared even the lion when they brayed: “What a majestic animal is this?” it scared the lion like this. You see? Well, the lion has never heard a voice like that in its life, it got astonished: “What a majestic creature is this that it even scared me”. Don’t bray like the braying of donkeys. No, be like the roaring of lions.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Allahu Dhu-l Jalal, Al-Yazdan didn’t create you to be a donkey. Allah Almighty didn’t create you as a beast of burden-know this, learn this. Al Khaliqu-l Yazdan Allah Almighty didn’t create you to be the donkey of dunya. Allah Almighty didn’t create you, saying “carry the burden that I load you down in dunya”. Allah Almighty didn’t make you the animal of dunya. Don’t forget. But what did shaytan turn the people into? May it be far from us, it turned the people into the animals of dunya. Shaytan made the people animals of dunya. And Man – “Wa Khuliqa Al-‘Insanu Da’ifaan”- was created weak. The meaning of weak is gentle- he is created gentle. He is not created for the burdens donkeys carry. Dunya- dunya is the burden of shaytan. It looks for someone “who should I load up?” It wants to load it onto Man who is gentle. Man is not a porter.

“Wa Humilati Al-‘Ardu Wa Al-Jibalu” (69:14). Is it a Holy Verse? “Humilat”, bore the burden but that burden is a burden that gives honour. And Man is honoured with such an honour that no one can be above that honour. Allah Almighty placed His Amanat/Trust on him. Man bore the Amanat that neither Heavens nor Earths could bear. It was offered to the mountains & stones “Who will bear this Amanat?” They said “O Lord, forgive us. Forgive us, we can’t do it”. Who did it? Who did it, who took that burden? “Wa Hamalaha l-‘Insanu” (33:72). Man bore it. Man didn’t take the Amanat for carrying fertilizer. There is such an honour for Man, that mountains, stones are offered to bear it but the mountains, stones said “We can’t accept it, we can’t bear it”. O Man, know your honour. Come in O seekers of Shah Mardan, who want to take faydh/benefit from him – listen. Know your honour. If Man knew his honour, it would be peaceful & quiet on earth. If Man knew his honour no one would insult one another, no one would oppress one another, no one would look down on another. This is the honour of Man. Get used to this O those who wander around claiming to be Men but are not aware of humanity.

Today’s humanity is not aware of humanity. The Bible, Torah, Zabur and the Holy Quran are sent to the people to teach them the level of humanity. “Wa Ma ‘Allamnahu sh-Shi’ra” (36:69). “We didn’t teach him poetry”. “Wa ‘Allamnahu Min Ladunna ‘Ilmaan” (18:65). We granted him a knowledge from Ladun/from Us. Our Master, the Sultan of the Prophets- Salawatullahi wa salamu alaik- knew his mission. And when he knew his mission, he learned what was necessary for him to fulfill that mission. “Addabani Rabbi. My Lord taught me adab”. Allah Almighty taught him how he should behave. Allah Almighty taught the Master of Creation (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). “‘Allamani Rabbi” (12:37). Addabani Rabbi fa’ahsana ta’dibi. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Yes. Yawmun jadeed, rizqun jadeed.

O Shah Mardan, your knowledge is a jewel. O people, take from that jewel. And each Prophet also came with a kind of jewel. The jewel Prophet Jesus brought is different. The jewel Prophet Moses brought is different and the jewel Prophet Solomon brought is different. What is what Prophet Solomon brought? Innahu min Sulaymana wa innahu Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. (27:30) The great Nabi, Prophet Solomon, from whose azamat/ greatness Heavens & earth would tremble, he also brought- he brought an amanat/ trust to mankind. “Innahu min Sulaymana wa innahu Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim”. There is an amanat, there is a jewel that each Prophet brought to make Men draw near to his Lord. To draw near to his Lord – this is the goal of the Men, to gain nearness to Allah. We want nearness to Allah. What else should we want? There is nothing for us with the Kings of this time.

For us, a nearness – such a nearness that it happens, its tahqiq/reality happens one night a year. On one night a year, how does a servant draw near to Allah Almighty? Its definition comes- the Laylatu-l Qadr. On the Laylatu-l Qadr, when that manifestation takes place, everything is in sajda. O Lord, may You not deprive us of that sajda. May we make sajda for You our Lord. May we dive into Your Nur O Lord. Grant us strength O Lord and we will raise Your banners. We will destroy the banners of the enemy of mankind. We acknowledge the flag of azamat the Prophet of the end of times brought and we run to be under it. Sahibu-l Liwa Al Hamd- the flag of Praise belongs to our Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). In dunya and in akhirah also his flag will be called, raised and all Prophets will run to be under it. May Allah grant us honour & in dunya also may we be under that Liwa Al-Hamd which the Glorious Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) carries.

May we be dressed with the level of the honour of humanity. Leave the fighting. Leave the savagery. The beauty and elegance of Man- “Wa la-qad karramna Bani Adam” (17:70). Don’t debase the children of Adam who Allah honoured and exalted. This is in the Bible, in Torah, in Zabur too; it is in all the books. Prophet Adam was crowned with this crown of happiness, with this crown of honour in Paradise. Try to keep it. All of us have it but shaytan drives people in the opposite way. O our Lord, You have all these fresh and beautiful ways.

It is tonight which is the Laylatu-l Qadr, the famous. It is a manifestation. Once that manifestation is opened, whatever is there standing, falls down in sajda. Even the ants are in sajda. Al-Azamatu Lillah, wa l-‘Izzatu Lillah, wa l-Jabarut Lillah. May Allah open it for you. May He open our hearts. What beauties are there, what beauties are there, what honours are there. Yes, when that “Innahu min Sulaiman” came, that Bismillah brought so much to the Queen of Sheba. It is the Bismillah from Sulaiman. When it is recited upon the order coming from Rabbu-l Izzat you can’t describe or explain the rank that comes with it, S. Mehmet Effendi.

For this, let us say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. And we gain honour, we gain strength, we gain beauty. May we not be rejected from the Door of Acceptance of Rabbul Izzat. What night is it, the Laylatu-l Qadr? It is equal to “Alfi Shahr/1000 months”- which month, in which scale, which time is it? We can’t define it. Masha’ Allahu kana, wa ma lam yasha’ lam yakun. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. The arena is all yours. May you teach and we learn.

Tawfiq/success is from Allah Almighty. Let us say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim and march. If you say it & march, there will be no closed doors left in front of you. There will be no creature left that does not respect you. Say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim and blow on yourself. They don’t teach it because they worship shaytan. They worship idols, they worship imitated things. Leave these and make sajda in the Presence of Rabbu-l Izzat Who created you. Everything is in sajda on the Laylatu-l Qadr. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Wa Lillah’il Hamd.

The Ocean of Being

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi(Qs), Sohbat, 14th July, 2013.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim | Sohbat

As-salāmu ‘alaykum, O attendees. “O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan”, from that point they make us start our speech. From wherever they make us start, is from where they open up a way for us. As-salāmu ‘alaykum, O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan. As-salām qabla l-kalām! Before speaking, give greetings of peace (salām)! Greetings of peace bring salamat, a state of well being, safety, and that means peace. Let us say, “astaghfiru-Llāh, I ask Allah for forgiveness!” Let’s be from those who are pure and clean! Allah loves those who are clean. “Inna-Llāha yuhibbu l-mutatahhirīn.” (2:222)

Our assembly is an assembly according to our own strength: An ant isn’t given the load of a bee, and a bee isn’t given the strength of a bird. Lā yukallifu-Llāhu nafsan illa wus‘ahā. (2:286) Allah doesn’t task a self beyond its capacity. Dastur, yā Rijāl Allāh. Madad, O Shah Mardan, support! O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan, welcome, O lovers of the Lion of Allah. With his love we live; by his purity we become pure; from his knightliness and his high aspiration we learn adab. O our Lord, how many are Your gracious Favours!

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Your brethren adore you lovingly. Your awe-inspiring appearance envelops the world and makes it shake. Learn adab, ta’addabu! Learn adab! What does it mean to learn adab, Shaykh Muhammad Effendi? It means to know your limits. Adab! Who is a person possessing adab? The person who knows his limits. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Explain to us about proper adab! Our Lord, Jalla Jalāluhu brought us into existence. From nothingness, from nonexistence, He brought us into existence. Here you go, O Shah Mardan, explain it, try to make your brethren understand. To those who are ready for your orders, who want to keep to your path, O servants of Allah, salāms (greetings of peace) to you! “Without salāms, there’s no goodness!”, he says. What’s his value? He’s an animal. An animal doesn’t give salāms nor does it understand the meaning of peace.

Dastur, yā Shah Mardan. Let us learn. Innama l-‘ilmu bi ta‘allum (Verily, knowledge is through learning) So let’s learn! Slowly, slowly we will learn the adab of entering into the (divine) Presence. It is not easy, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. There is a special adab of being in the Presence, entering into the Presence is step by step. Someone who doesn’t have a mentor by his side cannot simply present himself for a face-to-face meeting. O human, the rank of the Station of Divinity (Martabat al-Uluhiyya) is not just any kind of rank. No one can comprehend its reality! Our Lord, the Eternal Most High Being, He said, “I will create a new creature, to represent Myself: a khalīfa.” What does it mean, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, His khalīfa? “I will create a new creature that will represent Myself”. The angels fell down prostrate, all the majestic angels lay trembling in prostration before the Exalted Lord of Might and Glory.

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. We are incapable, according to our state, of bearing even the magnificence of His Words, but there are noble Angels, majestic Angels. Allah Allah! Even those majestic Angels fell trembling into prostration. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. So how did it all start? “I will create”, He proclaimed, the All-Compelling (al-Jabbār) Owner of all Greatness (al-Mutakabbir). O Allah Most High, Possessor of absolute Might, Glory and Majesty! He declared, “I will create a new creature to represent Myself. Allāhu akbar! Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. Adjust to it, O you human animals, who don’t want to rise above the rank of being animals, insisting to remain in the category of quadrupeds, as speaking animals, a creature that can speak. Be careful! What kind of honor comes to you?

Allah, the Possessor of all Majesty, Magnificence, Greatness and Sovereignty, our Lord, He said, “I will create.” The noble Angels said, “We are always busy with Your servanthood, O our Lord. This one, which You are creating, is being given preference over us, he will be above us. We were hoping that this rank would be granted to us.” “You were created for a special purpose and to fulfill this is your duty, no one should interfere in someone else’s affair!” In this Presence, giving orders and existence to creation is the privilege of the Lord of Might and Glory. That’s what you must understand. Who is the Lord of Might and Glory? Allah Most High. Amruhu bayna l-kāf wa n-nūn (His order is between kāf and nūn) He is the One, who, if He wants a thing, orders it saying “Be! Kun” and it is. Thanks belong to Allah!

Welcome to this congregation, O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan. Mā shā’ Allahu kāna wa mā lam yashā’ lam yakūn. What Allah wills happens and what He doesn’t will does not! Here you go, O Shah Mardan. We are weak servants. You are weak, but your weakness may go. Allah Most High doesn’t say “Stay weak!” “Prostrate to Me”, He said to the angels; and with each prostration (sajda) the noble angels increase in their knowledge of the Divine. Allah Haqq! Allah Hu, Allah Haqq! Allah Hu, Allah Haqq! Proclaim “Allah Hu” I am saying. There’s no need to tell them to proclaim it, because they live by it, but a life by eating and drinking is the life of animals. Real human life is by “Allah Hu, Allah Haqq! Allah Hu, Allah Haqq!”, you go beyond earths, reaching to heavens. Here you go, O Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. Explain it, so we may learn!

His (swt) greatness and His power have no limits. They go beyond every description. He is the Lord of Might and Glory and all-overwhelming Power (jabarūt). When Jabarūt is mentioned, the whole universe starts to shake in its place, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. Allahu Dhū l-Jalāl wa ‘Azamat (the Possessor of Majesty and Greatness) Allah’s greatness and all-overwhelming power (Jabarūt), when His all-overwhelming power is mentioned, no one can give its meaning, they all fall down prostrate. When the manifestation of Allahu Dhū l-Jalāl wa Jabarut appears, there remains no one who does not fall down prostrate, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. That’s why our exalted Protector loves those, who perform sajda. Let us be among them! Our honor lies in prostrating to our Lord. O Allah, whose greatness and grandeur are without limits, Dhū l-‘Arshi wa l-Qudrati (Possessor of the Throne and Almightiness) wa l-Jabarūt.

When al-jabarūt is mentioned nobody really understands what exactly is meant; they can’t even get near it! It is a term related to Divine Unity, O Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, it is not for us. It is a magnificent word: Allahu Dhū l-‘Arshi wa l-Jabarūt. Allah. Here you go, O Shah Mardan! Shah Mardan, who with his sword Dhū l-Fiqqār in his hand, approached the fortress of Khaybar in his awe-inspiring majesty. To the watchman of this fortress of the Jews he said, “Soldier, is there anyone who dares to come out against me?” One of the leaders of the Jews said, “I do, I’m the owner of this fortress!” “Are you? So are you ready to come down onto this field?” “I am ready”, he replied. Our distinguished master ‘Alī was clad in such robes of majesty. When that leader of the Jews said “I am ready to oppose you”, he said, “Are you?” Hardly were the words “Are you?”, “I am”, spoken, when he struck the Jew with his sword Dhū l-Fiqqār. Nothing remained of the Jew nor of his head, it fell down to the ground. Water gushed forth from the earth. You saw it. I drank from that water. It still flows, that blessed spring in the desert.

O people, look for spiritual orientation! Don’t be like some chopped off, dried up tree trunks! Be sensitive! Learn what perfection is and prostrate. Allāhu Akbar! Mercy, O my Lord! If Shah Mardan had wished, with one strike of his sword he could have split the whole world into halves like a melon. Did anything like that happen? We’re in the world of possibilities, I am not discussing whether it happened or not. It may happen or not, but he is the invincible hero. Can he do it? If he wants, he can split the world into halves. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. Let’s open up, let our spiritual power appear! Let our souls rejoice! “Tarīqatunā as-suhba”, “our way”, he says “is the way of association”. Speak, if permission comes to your heart! He has permission, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, he may speak. After entering inside it opens up more and more. What marvelous things open up! What wonderful roses open up, what beautiful rose gardens appear! What is this? It’s our view of things.

Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Rabbī Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Hasbī Hasbunā-Llāh wa ni‘ma l-wakīl. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. “We’ll take these small humans along a little distance on the way into the spiritual world”, he said. “That’s why they are making you speak now. Really, our words aren’t worth mentioning.” Astaghfiru-Llāh – that’s what they say. Along the way Shah Mardan arranges for the Son’s of Man to be told a few realities, like – “What is the definition of man?” “Al-insān haywān nātiq”, someone says, “Man is a speaking animal.” This is not the correct definition. Look at what Shah Mardan is saying. “He (Man) is the khalīfa representing his Lord. He is a highly honored creature, created to represent the Lord of Might and Glory in this world.” Be honorable! Who is without honor is an animal. Who is honorable is a human being. Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi l-hamd.

Let’s not get tired! Say it, proclaim it everywhere! Proclaim it, in whichever gathering you enter! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi l-hamd. If man learns two words a day, he gets closer to being human. Every human has a rank of humanness, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. To reach your given rank there is a certain way to educate you. To detach him from this detestable world, there exist for every human being possessors of powerful forces who pull him towards the heavenly dominions. They are the beloved ones of Allah and Shah Mardan is the beloved of Allah’s Beloved (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). Love those whom Allah loves, O you, who claim to be humans! They claim to be humans, dressing according to the latest fashion, our men as well as our women. But really, by dressing fashionably a human, cannot reach his human identity. The human possesses a higher reality. You should look to learn about it! This is what Shah Mardan is explaining now, O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan. Allah Allah.

May they make it our path to follow the way of these lions. Let us learn adab. This assembly is an assembly of adab. That’s why in former times it said everywhere “Adab, yā Hu!” Teach this, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi! Teach it. Let them learn that there has to be adab. “Adab, yā Hu!”, learn adab! Who has no adab – out the door with him! Who has adab is accepted inside. If you see someone who doesn’t watch his steps, throw him out! Know your place, young man! Know, where you’re stepping! Know, where you have to stop! Learn who you are, know what your duties are! Don’t be an evil servant of this evil world! The people of today have become servants in the service of shaytān and this evil world. All people are after is to serve this evil world. They have no value, no value at all.

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Who is a human being? Teach it to your brethren! “‘Allamanī Rabbī”, “My Lord taught me.” What can be higher than that? “Addabanī Rabbī”, He taught me adab. Adab! Nowadays, the whole world is without adab. They’ve become the laughingstock of shaytān. To destroy each other, they have produced countless devilish inventions. They don’t have any value. O human, O human, look at the address coming from on high. Prophet Ādam was created. The exalted Lord of Might and Glory said, “Yā Ādam, khalaqtuka”, “O Ādam, I have created you, to be My khalīfa”, He said. The meaning of “My khalīfa”, says Shah Mardan, is – “Make yourself ready to be My servant! Be ready for servanthood!

A person who doesn’t know servanthood is an animal. Dressing fancily, pinning on fake medals and decorations doesn’t make you human. These kinds of things are also attached to horses necks; they stick some bangles on a horse and say, “It makes it gallop nicely.” But you, you are not a horse, you are not a stallion! You are not a bear. You are not a wolf. Your place is high and lofty. You are a human being. You were created to be the master of creation.

The term “ocean of existence” – here you go, O Shah Mardan – the Lord of Might and Glory’s “ocean of existence” means that the beings He brought into existence are countless and without a limit. He is Allah, al-Jabbār (the Irresistible Compeller). He is al-Jabbār, Allah, the Possessor of Majesty. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. “Learn adab!”, he says, “and all doors will open for you, but if you don’t learn adab, every direction will be closed for you. Nothing!” Adab is learnt from those who possess adab. Let it be written everywhere: “Adab, yā Hu!” Let this be written and hung in every place! The same goes for “Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim”. Say it and let it be written and hang it up in every place!

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. O Lion of Allah, your brethren adore you lovingly. We are asking for power. But we’re not asking for horse power. No! We want neither horse power, nor ox power, nor elephant power. The power we want is that kind of power, which pushes us forward on the ways of adab. Sit with adab! Get up with adab! Everyone who has ever won a rank in the Presence of Allah the Majestic has only won it by way of adab. The Turks took down the Basmalah, they took down the Basmalah and hung up a picture in its place. The two don’t go together. They are watching them from Heaven. Without stopping to watch, He is leaving them – “Leave those, they’ve left the ranks of humanity and have entered the category of quadruped animals. Let them enter it”, He said. Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi lhamd.

We’ll get used to it. “Addabanī Rabbī”, “My Lord taught me adab”, the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) says. A human without adab is not worth five pence. Here you go, O Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. Teach us the ways of servanthood of our Lord. And bring down our wicked ego, because our wicked ego is with shaytān. We’ll leave the evil traits of our character. If we don’t acquire the good adab that is coming down from heavens for ourselves, we are worthless. O sacred human being, Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi l-hamd. Why are you running around the streets? Those running around the streets belong to the category of animals, while you belong to mankind. Why are you shouting in the streets, O Muslims? What rights do you have? What is it, you demand? Doesn’t Allah the Majestic grant you your rights? He does. But you demand more that this. For what? For your animals. ‘For your animal’ means ‘for your wicked ego’. Leave it!

Let Allah the Majestic dress you in the robes of majesty befitting you as a sacred human being, so that, without having to shout, if you say “Allah” only once you could turn the whole world upside down. Say, “Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Hasbī Allāhu Rabbī, Allāhu Hasbī”, That’s what you must teach, O ulema! Teach these people, not to hang around in the streets. In the old days it used to be said, but the people of the end of times are all running around in the streets. Roaming the streets, saying, “what’s up?” “Let’s go there, we cannot go back home.” That’s the condition of people today. No! They don’t know what they want. They don’t know what they’re doing.

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Come on, explain it! Is it a handful of provisions that they want? There it is. Beyond that, what do you want? Do you want this world? This world is not just a handful. This world is a treasure chest reaching from East to West providing for so many thousands of thousands of creatures. It may suit you here, but in the hereafter it is useless. Be a man! O Islamic world, be men! Don’t be animals! Say, “Rabbī Allāh” (My Lord is Allah) say: “Hasbī Allāh” (Allah suffices me), don’t be afraid. Stay in your homes, your provision comes to you. May Allah dress us in the beauty of true faith! Fashion does not make a human beautiful. No benefit comes from fake decorations. O our Lord, dress us in the robes of servanthood. To become Your servants makes heavens and earths tremble: “A servant of Allah, ‘Abdullah!”

O our Lord, for the sake of this holy month send us someone from Your blessed servants to inspire us and wake us up! Here you go, O Shah Mardan, Your soulful supplications are not rejected. Let us get together with his close companions. Let’s learn and practice adab, you have everything. A human, whose desire is this world, his value is in the category of animals. Those, who desire the hereafter belong to the category of businessmen. Beyond them are those, who desire the Pleasure of their Lord – they are the sincere, the ones who are accepted in the (divine) Presence. Here you go, Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. They should change, these people. Let us change, let us know our Lord. O our Lord, forgive us! For the sake and sanctity of this holy Ramadan send us a master, send us a sultan! We’ve fallen into the category of those who have no apparent head. Send us sultans to educate us, O Absolute Sultan!

Whose desire is this world, he is an animal. Whose desire is the hereafter, that is the rank of servanthood. Draw closer, see to drawing closer! This world drags man away from his Lord, so don’t crave it! This world takes one away (from Allah). Shah Mardan (and companions) are not bringing us closer to this world but to the hereafter. Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. How wonderful. May our inside be pure; may our dresses be robes of awe-inspiring majesty, may our food be halāl (permitted), may our appearance be beautiful! O our Lord, forgive us, for the honor of Your noble Beloved! Let’s tear it down!

Among the servants of Allah Most High there are the likes of Shah Mardan, who are not taken to account and who will turn this whole world upside down. Show adab and you will find them. Don’t sleep! Don’t say, “I want this world!” Don’t run after this world from the moment you open your eyes! Those running after this world are garbage like this world itself; it is nothing but a carcass. O our Lord, O our Exalted One, O our Sultan, Yā Muhawwil al-hawli wa l-ahwāl hawwil hālanā ilā ahsani l-hāl. From the East a sun of majesty and power rises like a dragon moving along its course, filling the whole world with radiant light. In the evening it returns. Where it returned to Allah knows. Is there one sun? Are there two? Allah knows. O our Lord, make our hearts full of faith! For the honor of Your Beloved (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam), let no doubt or ambiguity remain! Let’s find honor through Your servanthood!

Open your eyes, say, “Allah”, Don’t be afraid! This evil world is under your feet, the heavens are above your head. Look high above, don’t pay attention to what’s under your feet, because looking at it lowers a person’s rank. Don’t focus on the earth, mountains, stones, gold, silver. Don’t pay attention to them. If you do, your worth diminishes. Your worth is not this world. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. Get used to it, let’s learn adab!

O our Lord, dress us in the majesty of this blessed month of holy Ramadan, dress us in well being in Your service. May performing our duties be made easy! Let’s say, “Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim” How wonderful! Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. O our Lord, we are Your servants. We are plunged in confusion, send us a sultan, O my Lord! For the sake of the Almighty’s Beloved, send us a sultan, send us power! O our Lord, You are Exalted! “Subhāna Rabbika Rabbi l-‘izzati ‘ammā yasifūna wa salāmun ‘ala l-mursalīna wa l-hamdu li-Llāhi Rabbi l-‘ālamīn”(37:180-182), Fātiha.

For the honor of Shah Mardan, Fātiha.

Shah Mardan doesn’t spur his horse once without reaching from West to East. Spurring their horse a single time they dash from West to East, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. They are dragons! They don’t look at this evil world. Don’t look, my son! Let your gaze be fixed on the heavens! Let all your aspiration be only for heavens. On earth there is nothing for us. Fātiha.

May Allah increase your light, increase your strength, increase your majestic appearance! “Ad-dunya jīfa (the world is a carcass). This detestable world, this evil world, it’s nothing but a carcass”, he says. Don’t run after it, may your aspirations be high! May those, who listen to us, enter the way of Truth as well.

Please recite over me, Mehmet! Fātiha.

May Allah be pleased with you. Guard the attribute of being a servant. Get used to this!

In the Middle of the Sea

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (qs), Sohbat, 13th July, Ramadan 2013.

As-Salam alaikum ayyuhal yaran. O yaran of Shah Mardan. Marhaba. Welome to you. You came with khair and may you find khair/goodness. May we find khair. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Your yaran are your admirers. Ya Rabbi, You created us beautiful. Shukur to You our Mawla. He (swt) created Man the most beautiful in all creation. Our Allah, our Subhan, our Sultan. May our hearts open. May Shah Mardan send us power. Our assembly is a spiritual assembly. What is the title of a spiritual assembly? It is Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim – A spiritual assembly. Man has spirituality as well as, a body that belongs to dunya. “We should prefer the spiritual side” says Shah Mardan. The spiritual side- spiritual side is a pearl, is a diamond. What is outside of that assembly are the things that fill the toilets. The people…

Let Shah Mardan go ahead now & we slowly learn from him. Al ‘ilmu bi’t-ta’allum. Ta’allamu fa innal ‘ilma Nurun. Learn – learn knowledge that is Nur. Knowledge is Nur, gives Nur. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. What Allah Wills happens and what he doesn’t Will, doesn’t happen. Grant us power and make our assembly be spiritual, O Shah Mardan. We are not created for dunya. Here, this is the important point- We are not created for dunya. Go ahead O Shah Mardan, for Whom are we created? If we are created for dunya, we are animals. Animals have no honour. We are not created for dunya. We are created for our Lord- the Rabbu-l ‘Arshu-l Azim, the Subhan Allah. “Wa Ma Khalaqtu l-Jinna Wa l-‘Insa ‘illa Li ya’buduni”(51:56) Haqq SubhanaHu wa Ta’ala says. Here, Shah Mardan starts the dictation. What he means by ‘this dictation’ is, that he starts supporting, giving strength to our spiritualities. We are in need of this. Madad Ya RijalAllah.

We are not created for dunya. It is a wrong idea; it is a thought that is not true. Man is not created for dunya. (Mawlana sings) “Al-Khaliqu l-Yazdan created you – The Mighty Creator, Al-Khaliqul Jabbar, created you for service in khilqat. Man is created for service. Rabbu-l Izzat dresses a new rank for each service. Here, Shah Mardan Hz informs us of what Man is created for. If our mission is to eat and drink… O Shah Mardan, go ahead. The disciples of the Prophet Jesus said: “May a table from Heavens come down for us”. All their concern and thoughts were after the table. “Do you have no faith? He said. But let me see it that my heart may be at rest”(2:260) Look, these are the disciples of Prophet Jesus. What did they ask for? “May a table come down for us”. The table you asked for from Heavens does not come down from Heavens. It is on earth.

What do you seek from the Malakut/Heavens? You asked for a table, which offers eating and drinking to satisfy your animal being. Shame on you. What are we? You should be aware of what you ask. You should be aware of what you are also. Only animals are just concerned with eating and drinking. Eating & drinking is not the honour of al-insan al-kamil (the perfect man). Al-insan al-kamil’s whole concern is not about eating, drinking or dressing up. Al-insan al-kamil. “Wa Ma Khalaqtu l-Jinna Wa l-‘Insa ‘Illa Liya’buduni”(51:56). “Liya’buduni”. Allahu Akbarul Akbar. You are Subhan. “(I created Men and Jinn so that) they acknowledge Me, they know Me, they tasdiq/affirm My Sultanate and perform service in My Sultanate- they attain to the honour of serving in My Sultanate; they serve Me. I didn’t create them for serving this dunya”. Amantu BiLlah. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Allah did not create us from the category of those who have no concern other than eating & drinking. Allah Allah.

There are all these creatures – their only concern is eating & drinking. (Mawlana sings) “Al- Khaliqu-l Yazdan created you for service”. Shame on us! Janab-i Mawla, Khaliqu-l Yazdan created you for..” says Shah Mardan who speaks from Heavenly knowledge – (Mawlana sings) “Al-Khaliqu-l Yazdan created you for service”. Our minds are corrupted from the beginning, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. He (swt) created you for service. Allahu Dhu-l Jalal, Who is the Absolute Owner of the everlasting, never-ending Sultanate, created you for service. Allahu Akbar. What a great honour! The way Prophets show people to follow, S.Mehmet Effendi, is the way of service. If the Prophet, alayhi Salatu was-Salam, was concerned about his belly, he could have set tables, eaten & then got busy with tables again. But that was not his concern. Huuu. (M.sings) “He created you for service”. This is the voice of Malakut (Heavens).

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. He (swt) created you for service. For which service? Did He create you to build houses, to build villages, to enjoy dunya? O shameless, no mind, no understanding people! Shame on the people, to what do they attribute the wisdom of their creation? To eating and drinking. And in the end, to the toilet – to fill the toilet. Allah SubhanaHu wa Ta’ala made you responsible for the highest service. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. “He created you for service”. Service. Service for whom? Service for whom? Not for the service of little kids or animals. But for Al-Khaliqu-l Yazdan, for the One Allah, Shah Mardan says repeatedly. That Shah Mardan who is the Shah of Oceans says repeatedly – “Your service is not for dunya”. Your service is – Al-Khaliqu l-Yazdan Allahu Dhu-l Jalal created you for service”. He (swt) appointed us for His Own service. Astonishing. And what are we doing? We do the service of the donkey or horse we ride – Let us eat the best, dress the best, go to the best places. Man is not created for this.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. “Khaliqu-l Yazdan created you for service”. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa Lillahi-l Hamd. Say this and see how your life changes – experience the taste and honour. O ignorant Man! “‘Innahu Kana Zalumaan Jahulaan”(33:72). Is it like this? Man is jahul and zalim at the same time. Zalum meaning very unjust, Jahul meaning very ignorant. Do we have a school to teach us, to speak to us about Rabbu-l Izzat, or about how we should serve, or about Whom we should serve? “Well, we have physical education, sports classes for the children”. What benefit does it give? Half of the people on earth became crazy for the ball (games). May the ball remove the ones with this mentality. The whole world stands and people fight each other for a ball game. Well, putting what we call a ball, in the shape of a sphere in a field – putting a football and applying all our power, all our thoughts, all our life, all our mission to it- what kind of a thing is this? “‘Innahu Kana Zalumaan Jahulaan”. Men are oppressors and very ignorant at the same time. The whole world rises for the news. Of what? This sports club had a striking victory against the other. What is its benefit? What did you gain? What did you learn? What did you do?

Everything that belongs to dunya is filthy to the extent that you can’t even look at it. Approach the assembly of Shah Mardan, O yaran of Shah Mardan- O holy one, O who seek the way to the assembly of the holy ones. Look for it. This dunya is not created for playing ball, for the people to enjoy, or to eat & drink. Change your way of thinking. Tawba Ya Rabbi. Khaliqu-l Yazdan created you for service. Allahu Dhu-l Jalal created you for service. What else do you serve? Football! This club, that… The huge city of Istanbul rises up with this. Your minds are not even as big as a bird. A bird at least flies by itself and goes around. What about you? “And we are running after football” they say. You, who are the most honoured creature, is your job playing football? Shaytan made the world go crazy with football. It did that and then set the people against each other with the assertion – “You are ahead & I am behind?” They don’t accept.

Astaizu BiLlah, what did Pharaoh say to the Prophet Moses? Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, pay attention to this Holy Verse. “‘In Turidu ‘illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi Wa Ma Turidu” Ya Musa.(28:19) You want to be a jabbar/tyrant on earth? Look at this Holy Verse, the claim of tyranny. There is the dirty ego in people, where does it drive us to? Pharaoh describes it- Ya Musa, you want to be a tyrant on earth – “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fil-‘Ardi”. What it means with jabbar, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, is the person who has power over everyone. Pharaoh – his attribute was that, there should be no one like him. They play ball & claim “We should be the first”. They play other games and say “We should be number one”. It is not suitable for mankind to play ball. “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran”. O Moses, do you want to be a tyrant, like Pharaoh claims to be a tyrant? “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fil- ‘Ardi”. It says “Your claim is…” It also means dictatorship.

“‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran”. If your (Musa) claim is to rule the world, I had this claim before you” Pharaoh says. He thought Prophet Musa’s invitation was the same as his invitation. He, himself, said “I am Pharaoh. You should worship me. I am the Jabbar. I can burn, destroy”. You can burn, destroy and then you cry in the middle of the sea: Amantu bi Rabbi Bani Israil. In the end you say, “I also believe in the God of Israil”. There are many like this. All the claims are about this, Shaykh Mehmet. Pharaoh says to Prophet Moses, “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi”. He means “You want to rule the earth like me?”. Allah Allah. To where does Man’s dirty ego drive him? The helper of the dirty ego is shaytan. It mounted the necks of the people and people say “I am. I am. There can’t be anyone above me”.

The “potin” (shoe in Turkish) who is called Putin says “I am the best Potin”. The man in America, originally African, who can’t even handle small things, says: “You can’t do anything! I have all the power in my hand”. What is the benefit? Why do you keep that power in your hand? Do you mean to make dunya better or to destroy the people? Why do you hold it? These people are Allah’s creation. Their hands are tied- they are madhlum / oppressed people. They only think about their food. You captured these people and drove them into the fire of war. For what? “I am the number one”. And Potin says “No, I am”. “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi”. Pharaoh’s address to Prophet Moses: “Do you want to be a tyrant?” The characteristic of today’s people is tyranny. He(swt) didn’t create us to be tyrants.

Come to your senses. “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi”. “I may rule every part of the earth and do as I like. This is what I want”. That attribute belongs to Allah Almighty, not to you! But Prophet Moses was told this. Pharaoh thinks that Prophet Moses is also after dunya, in the dunya hunt like himself. “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi”. People have become ignorant, they have become ignorant. “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi”. “You want to be a tyrant who rules the earth Ya Musa?” says Pharaoh to Sayyidina Musa. Hasha, thumma kalla. His (S.Musa) way is the way of Allah. What is the way of the Bani Israil now, still? Their way is tyranny. They are a small country like this but they say “I can rule over the whole world”. Of what value is the dunya you want to rule? Take dunya & put it on your head. Other nations follow them too whether they like it or not. One man appears, they call him “dictator”. What is his profession? Democracy. He cheats the people with democracy and succeeds in his tyranny this way. All the world’s people are like this.

“‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi”. “O Moses, do you want to be ruler on earth under one dictatorship?” Pharaoh says this. Well, it is Pharaoh’s own profession. But Prophet Moses’ profession is not this. Prophet Moses is for collecting people in the Presence of Allah and making his nation gain honour in Allah Almighty’s service. But they ran away from it. They said “No, we can’t follow Moses”. “Who do you follow?” Al ‘ijl, the calf, (2:51)- this is the mentality of Bani Israil. They say “Al ‘ijl”, “we have a calf made from gold and we want this”. What does it tell you? Moooo! Look at the mentality of Bani Israil. They preferred it and what did it say? Moooo. They call out, saying “We have a calf of gold”. Shaytan goes on your golden calf 1000x a day & makes you eat it. Tawba AstaghfiruLlah. Come to the right way! Keep your honour.

Man’s honour is in serving His Lord. O our Lord, may You accept us. It is Ramadan Sharif. It is Ramadan Sharif. It is the holy month in which the Quran Azimu sh-Shan descended. It came to bring us honour, to dress us with honour. We should show respect for it. “We do”. “How?” “Here, we set iftar tables”. And then you attack the tables like hungry wolves to eat. Where are the advices of the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam)? Where is the understanding level of today’s people? They can’t say. Go ahead O Shah Mardan & say. He says “I may say but then many heads will be taken”. Many heads will be taken. The heads of those who leave the service of their Lord will be taken. Then shaytan will turn to them & laugh, “This is where I brought you.” O our Lord. May You protect us from being tyrants. Our dirty ego is after the claim of tyranny, meaning it’s after the claim of Pharaoh- This party, that sect… “We are better”. The other say “No, we are better”. All of them are “‘In Turidu ‘Illa ‘An Takuna Jabbaran Fi l-‘Ardi”. Read the holy Quran, O our Hojas! Allah Allah. Allah Allah. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa Lillahi-l Hamd.

May You accept us for Your servanthood Ya Rabbi. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Your yaran are in need of your teaching. Ya Mardan, you are Shah Mardan. May the holy ones come who will teach us. May the troops who will raise the flags of Islam come. May the lions come. May the lions come who will throw dunya like a ball under their feet. Allahu Akbarul Akbar. Allahu Akbarul Akbar. La ilaha illa Allahu W’Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar wa LiLlahi-l Hamd. May our inside be filled with iman, O Lord. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Your yaran are your admirers. They say “we want a flag so that we can show the whole world, Who is its Owner. What is our job? Its Owner is Allah and we are His servants. There is no one but Him”.

Tawfiq/success is from Allah Almighty. O our Lord, may You grant us power in this holy month. We don’t want the power of eating & drinking. We want spiritual power. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Your yaran are your admirers. Let us say Bismillahi r-Rahman, Bismillahi r- Rahmani r-Rahim. May it open, may we gain strength. May our majesty increase. May our lives be spent in Your way, O our Lord. You are Subhan, You are Sultan. May You accept our servanthood for the honour of holy Ramadan.

Al Haqqania

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Al Haqqani

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (Qs), Sohbat – June, 1998.

Dastur, yā Sayyidī, Madad Madad, yā Sultān al-Anbiyā’ Madad, yā Sultān al-Awliyā’, Madad, yā Sadātinā l-kirām. A‘ūdhu bi-Llāhi min ash-shaytāni r-rajīm ،Bismi-Llāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm Lā hawla wa lā quwwata illa bi-Llāhi l-‘Aliyyi l-‘Azīm O Allāh, inspire us with righteousness and protect us from the evil of our egos! This is a message from our generous guardians & masters from my master Sultan al-Awliyā’ ‘Abd Allāh ad-Dāghistānī may Allāh Most High increase his station evermore through his servant Shaykh Muhammad Nāzim al-Haqqānī, the one carrying the byname al-Haqqānī.

As tensions increase in the land because moral corruption arose after Sultan ar-Rashād and spread rapidly among communities and individuals, from house to house, from neighborhood to neighborhood. Corruption has spread and ignorance has become common and darkness rules and Iblīs and his armies have taken control of large portions of mankind and possessed their hearts with the darkness of unbelief, hypocrisy and dissent. May Allāh protect us and you from falling into the temptations of evil, as they surround people on their left and on their right, from in front and from behind them, from below as well as from above, so that there is no spot left without evil – announcing corruption has taken leadership in the land, and the secret of the noble verse has become apparent. I seek refuge with Allāh: “and they fear a day whose evil will be widespread” (76:7) “and they fear a day whose evil will be widespread.”

This is our day: evil with countless wings flying over the land and over Allāh’s servants. So beware with utmost care, O servants of Allāh, Allāh Himself is warning you of destruction, annihilation, and ruin. So don’t blame anyone but yourselves if something hits you from the wrath of the All-Compelling! Join the ranks of the pious ones to be saved from annihilation and destruction in this world and on the Day of Decision.

You grew up in an age full of darkness in which there is no discerning between wrong and right and in which the orders of the Creator, Exalted is He, are not obeyed and people are ruled by their desires. “and they refuse common kindnesses” (107:7) although the Exalted reprimands them, saying, “Have you seen the one, who has taken his desires for his god?” (45:23). And He ordered them to go against their egos and desires and shaytān and this world while they were in a majestic setting – “The day We punish them with the greater punishment, We shall truly take revenge.” (44:16) So beware with utmost care. O servants of Allāh, fear Allāh, fear Allāh, regarding yourselves and your spouses and your children and your deeds.

“Show mercy to those on earth so that who is in heavens will show you mercy!” “Who doesn’t show mercy won’t be shown mercy.” This is a definite rule. Whose heart is bereft of mercy definitely the wrath of the All-Compelling will come down upon him. So beware with utmost care if there is no mercy in the servant’s heart for the servants of Allāh, be warned of the darkness/oppression. The Exalted, He says, “Verily, I have forbidden Myself oppression, so don’t oppress!” It is pure oppression which leads the servants to destruction, bringing ruin to the land, from East to West, from North to South.

I am warning you and I say: Beware of the anger of the ego and beware of fanaticism. There is no fanaticism in the religion of Islam, nor in the religion of Christianity, nor in the Jewish religion. You must show mercy, and if you are merciful, Allāh will be merciful to you. Stand straight in the court of al-Haqq and “do what is good, verily, Allāh loves those who do good!” (2:195) There can’t be the least doubt “Allah is Witness over what you do.”(3:98) and not an atom’s weight escapes Him neither of good nor of evil! So understand, O servants of Allāh, that verily, Allāh orders you to be just and equitable. Give Allāh’s servants the rights you owe them! That is enough.

Wherever you find the fire of dissension you must extinguish it! Whoever strives to extinguish the fire of dissension his Lord will reward him with a reward from Himself and He will say on the Day of Gathering, and also before the Day of Gathering during his worldly existence, He will single him out through the abundance of light appearing in him as if he was the sun in the sky. O servants of Allāh, it is your duty to help those who are in distress. This is a matter of great importance, which will please the Lord, Exalted is He & Most High. There is no action more beloved to Allāh Most High than helping those who are in distress.

The one thing better than helping the distressed is to help those crying for help, (from a poem:) “O You, Who help the one calling for help, if You don’t help us, who will help? And we have no Lord as Helper except for You, O Lord of the servants!” We are asking for Your help. O our Lord support us with a special support by the high rank of Your Beloved, the Chosen [al-Mustafa], Your Messenger, with whom Allāh is pleased [al-Murtada], Master of the First & the Last, whom You sent as a Mercy for all the worlds by the sanctity of al-Fātiha.

This is what I have to say & I’m asking forgiveness for myself & for you & all believers. Success belongs to those who ask forgiveness, so I ask Allāh for forgiveness. Regarding the daily practices [awrād]: There is permission for all that which Mawlana (Shaykh ‘Abd Allāh) has assigned to us, according to your capacity. As much as you can do keep to the awrād of the Shaykh! To increase the honor of the Prophet (salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam). al-Fātiha.

Sh. Hisham: We don’t understand what al-Haqqānī is. It’s a new name.

Shaykh Nāzim: Al-Haqqānī is the one who never accepts oppression or injustice. Every human has rights. Don’t say: this one is a Druze, that is a Christian, this is Alawi, that one is a Shia; that a Syrian, that a Lebanese or Iraqi. This one’s a Jordanian, that a Saudi. This is a Turk, that an Arab! Each sect and each individual from each community has the right to enjoy existence in their world so that they may progress by their acts of obedience to their Lord, Exalted and Most High. And Allāh, the Exalted, has made this earth a place where all servants can enjoy their existence. Every servant has a right to live in whatever country he likes!

The Last Days

Mawlana Shaykh Quotes

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (Qs), Sohbat,1998.

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. We have said some words here for English people, for German people. Actually these words must be said in all languages.

Since from the very first day that mankind had been on this world, we, among all people who have lived, are the ones who have reached the most dangerous and fearful days. Besides this, this fear is mild, compared to the fear for the coming days, it is like nothing. Because in the future, there will be terrible events where people in those terrible wars are either shot down dead or can’t carry the burden of those days. They will be oppressed/depressed – that is spiritually down. When one is spiritually down his being can’t carry him more. When spirits are alive/enlivened a man’s being is fresh, is active. When spirit loses strength, when it is down, no matter how strong the body is it won’t endure. Both to be able to carry the heaviness of these days that we are living in and to be able to carry the burden of the coming terrible events, one should have a real, strong spiritual life. One whose spirituality is not supported or strengthened, is worn down under these circumstances, and will not be able to carry the heavy burdens of the coming days.

“They look like the cardboard castles”, I say. How long can a cardboard castle endure? It doesn’t endure anything, it can’t protect people. People will only be protected by a strong castle, to take refuge in. That (castle) is their belief. Whose beliefs are imitated, they will not endure the big storms of the coming days, will be blown away. The circumstances of today oppress them but the coming terrible events will grind down them to pieces. Therefore a strong faith is the first essential element to keep people firmly on their feet in those circumstances. A strong faith is the only power, which will enable people to stand firmly in front of the up-coming terrible events. Without a strong faith one can neither endure the circumstances of today nor carry the terrible events of the coming days. Without it they will be destroyed.

If one is not killed, not shot down by many kinds of weapons, then the heaviness of events will crush them, they will not be able to put up with or carry it. The number of people who will die, without being shot but because of heaviness they can’t carry, will be in the millions. If there are some who aren’t dead, they will certainly go crazy. Millions of people will lose their minds, will go crazy, will go mad. Coming events are so heavy, so scary, these are the events ahead. Only thing that can help people, is a strong faith/belief. Nothing else! Nothing else can help. As I said, if one is not shot, the up-coming violent events on mankind will either kill them or deal them a mortal blow; their hearts will tear apart from fear or they will go crazy. Nothing else can help.

The events of today are very simple compared to the future events. Even now there are many men going crazy. The events of today are nothing. Compared to the events of up-coming days, the events of today are like honey sweets. Honey sweets. What it is to be depressed! Huuu ya Latif. We take refuge in Allah, we take refuge in Allah. About this I spoke a few words in English. You must hear these also.

In those days only a strong faith can favour you. How can you gain a strong faith? You can’t gain a strong faith by reading books. Perhaps you can get strong faith from awliya who are the owners of strong faith, which they can transmit from heart to heart. Our Prophet alaihi s-salatu wa s-salam, raised his companions from the lowest level of ignorance, to the highest level of faith. He won them all by the way of heart. Now in these times there are inheritors of the Prophet. Never are the awliya, who are inheritors of the Prophet, absent. Though you don’t know them. You may not recognize them but if you ask to find them, there is permission to call them.

If you know someone, call him as your heart says. If not, say: “O friends of Allah, friends of Haqq, help us!” Whichever troubled place or fearful and troubled situation you fall into, call them. “For the sake of the Prophet, O the friend of Al-Haqq, reach out for me.” As you say he has to help you. I told Christians to say – “For the sake of Prophet Isa/Jesus”; the nation of Moses – “For the sake of Musa alaihi s-salam, reach out for us.” They should say. They may say: “Help for the sake of Ibrahim alaihi s-salam.” “For the sake of Ahlu Bayt of Rasullah” – one can ask help for their sake. If one doesn’t know to say – “For the sake of Our Prophet” but he calls for the sake of all other prophets, awliya are ordered to help him anyway.

G: From now till the coming troubled days?

For anytime, from now on, they may call. No harm! Awliya are ordered to reach out for them to help. Now that the time is very close, we are made to say such matters. The war is very close. Severe events are very close. Thus the Awliya are prevailing on hearts. Awliya are ones who can see the hearts. They help the one who calls to them from the heart. If one calls them only with their tongue, still he will reach them. If people were not too afraid, they would appear to the ones who called them. But they don’t show themselves so as not to frighten people. One can feel their presence, if he is capable to accept their coming. He feels their coming in front of him.

So this is an important issue. Pay attention to this! The way for strong faith is opened by meeting the Awliya who are owners of strong faith. If you don’t know them, yet call for one of them in general. Say: “Reach out for me O friend of Allah!” Say: “Help me for the sake of the Prophet alaihi s-salatu wa s-salam.” Then your difficult situation will be eased. Your fears will disappear, your faith will be strengthened, your action corrected.

Bi hurmati l-Habib bi hurmati l-Fatiha.
