Don’t Imitate Them

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Sultan Sheikh Mehmet Adil Al-Haqqani (QS), sohbat of the 13th of May, 2015.

As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Audhu billahi min ash-shaytani r-rajim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. As-salatu wa s-salamu ala Rasulina Muhammadin Sayyidi l-awwalina wa l-akhirin. Madad ya Mashaykhina, dastur, Sheikh Abdullah Faiz Daghestani, Sheikh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani. Tariqatuna as-sohbah, wa l-khayru fi jam’iyyah.

“Man tashabbaha bi qawmin fa huwa minhum” says our Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam). If you imitate a nation or group of people and want to resemble them, you will become one of them. That’s why our Prophet says to be a little different from non-Muslims. Let your Muslim-hood be seen. It was clear before where people belonged from their clothes and attitudes. People nowadays show it too but some people want more to imitate others. That is not good. Your identity should be seen. Resemble the beloved servants of Allah. The religion of Islam is the most perfect religion.

Imitating is not only by clothing. They are making up laws not existing in Islam. And our people like them. We don’t like that. They are bringing up an idea and we want to imitate that idea. This also is not nice. Allah has made the religion of Islam the highest and greatest. This religion is the highest from all aspects. There is no better than this. Because Allah Azza wa Jalla made it perfect. You can’t see any incompleteness in it. How is it that Islam doesn’t resemble others? There is tolerance in Islam; everyone can live as they wish.

You can’t make a non-Muslim to be Muslim. If he wants, he can become Muslim. If he doesn’t, he can keep his religion. He can live among Muslims. They say they swear at Muslims. Of course, if they did other than that they would have become Muslim themselves. Their lack of love towards Muslims is quite a normal thing. Muslims should accept them as they are because if they loved Muslims, if they loved our Prophet, if they loved us, they would have become Muslim. Therefore, these people are against Muslims all over the world. But when honored with Islam, whatever the man has done, it will be as if he didn’t do it. Because Islam starts from that moment keeping his account and recording his book. Before that, he has already committed the biggest of sins by making shirk, not recognizing and not wanting Allah.

Therefore, there is no issue of him loving or not loving us. There are much bigger issues. But if you say a non-Muslim is doing this and that to us, that’s normal for him. We are not like him. No Muslim could live for hundreds of years in their countries. Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants couldn’t get along with each other. They didn’t tolerate it. They didn’t leave any Muslims there and exiled and sent them away. In our Islamic state during the time of Khalifat, in the Ottoman Empire, thousands of nations were living. They had hundreds of religions according to their minds. No one could interfere them. They didn’t interfere unless they were Muslims. And Muslims had certain principles for not making fitna. This is it. “Don’t imitate anyone.” it says.

Muslims don’t go out into the streets to march and scream. Sheikh Effendi used to be very angry at this. Muslims can’t go out into the streets and shout and scream, if something happens. You should go to the mosques and pray. As we say, there are many things. Whatever people, who have lost their way do, sometimes our Muslims are imitating them. Then, as we said, like in hadith of our Prophet, you become one of them. If you say you are Muslim and shout, you’re not counted as Muslim, you’re  counted as one of them. A Muslim follows with adab the way ordered by Allah and shown by our Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam). He doesn’t imitate. A Muslim is a dignified person with adab, not a loose one. You shouldn’t resemble them – not only by clothing, but actually by sense of logic and behaviour.

“Don’t resemble non-Muslims and those who have lost their ways” it says. Beware don’t imitate them and don’t like what is theirs. And there’s no need to act against them. We don’t accept, don’t like and don’t want it. Most people feel disgusted when they come across and see screaming and yelling somewhere. Whoever it may be, people don’t like it. Therefore, it’s wrong to scream and shout. It is said in Qur’an as well “Don’t raise your voices”. “Don’t raise your voice above our Prophet’s.” When you scream… Our people sometimes shout out takbir too much. This is not nice either. Act with adab. It’s not good to do it everywhere because you will put yourself under the bad tongue of people and cause others to hate or curse you. What we preach is the way of adab, this is the way of tariqa.

Allah Azza wa Jall He said in Qur’an … no. Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam) in hadith he said, Man tashabbaha bi qawmin fa huwa minhum. Who look like some nations, or some people, who try to be like them, imitate them, he is from them. Of course this before it was for outside looking. Many people in the old time, every nation, every people from their custom you know from where they are, which religion, which country. So, it was not good to imitate [those] who are not from Muslim people. There must be a difference between you and others. But these days it is more important for not imitate them or not like them – to [not] look like them, inside, innerly.

How they have bad ideas for whole human beings They thought they are doing good but their ideas [are] not good. So, we mustn’t listen to them or to imitate them, to make some idea like them. Especially, people [that] they are angry. These people they are making many trick about Islam. They are making, they are swearing for Islam, for our precious, holy, holy thing for Islam. They are saying bad word about this and we, our people they are attacking them. They are doing [the] same thing. They are imitating them and they are coming in trick for what they done these people. In Islam it is [a] religion for, the best religion of Allah. “[The] last religion [is] Islam” He said ‘the complete religion.’

So these people, when they are saying bad thing about Islam, bad thing about Muslim, bad thing about every holy thing for us, it is normal. It is normal, we mustn’t be angry. Why? Because if they are accepting and they are loving our holy things they must be Muslim. So, when they are not accepting, they can do what they do. So we are not [to] imitate them, and be make the same thing for them. Even [if] there is many crazy people, they are swearing for some Prophet also. We accept all Prophet[s]. So when these people they are doing every[thing] they can do, every bad thing, they can do what they like because we are not responsible for them. Only we are responsible [for those] who are in Islam. But other people they are, they are making the biggest sin to be, [to] put partner with Allah or not accept Allah or they are doing, worshipping idols. They are doing anything outside of Islam they are, this is the most important and the biggest sin.

There is hadith: It is no sin behind ‘kufr’ (…) unbelief. Unbeliever, it is the biggest sin. It is the biggest sin because when these people, if they doing the worst thing before Islam and [then] they accept Islam, only Allah asking for them after Islam. Before Islam all this [is] forgiven for them. So for this these, our people, they are imitate them and they are try to do same what they do. We know they are not, they don’t have any ‘musamiha’ (tolerance). No tolerance. We know this, and we see everywhere in the world they are doing the worst not taking nations from earth. They not leaving any Muslims in Europe after 100 years. Not leaving any, only this last century the Muslim come to Europe also. But before, No!

But also, it is not, not bad for us, because it is normal. We cannot say “how they can do this, how can they do that?” It is normal because they are outside of belief. So we are only must imitate – not imitate them. Only following Islam. Islam, because it is accepting in our country [for there] to be people with another religion. They are, they have right, they have to be in safety in our country to work and worship what they like. Only we saying, we invite them to Islam. If they accept, OK accept. If not accept it is, they are free. It is not, now it is this. Since Prophet (saws) – same. It was like this. In Iran there was worshipping Majusi, they worshipping fire. And there was Jewish, there was Christian there was many thing. In Ottoman time, same.

Even, once when Fatih Sultan Mehmet who conquered Istanbul, he was going through Europe and opening. There was a Serbian king and he was between Ottoman and between Hungary. Hungary it was Catholic and the Orthodox – Serbian. And he sent some messenger to ask how maybe, because Orthodox and Catholic, it was like enemy, more than Muslim! And he try to ask maybe if he [can] help this Hungarian against Turk. They will be, there is peace between them. He sent for this king. He said to him ‘If we help you, how you will be treating us?’ He said, “We will try to finish all this Orthodox and then crush all your yes, everything for [the] church and..” And he asked for Sultan Mehmet. He said, “We are, the religion, Islam. We invite people to Islam. If they accept, accept. If not accept, they are free. We will leave their Church and what they worshipping. We can be in the mosque.”

It was like this, but we are, what we say from beginning. It is normal for non-believers. We cannot imitate them. They must imitate us. We have the adab of Prophet (saws) and teaching of Allah Azza wa Jalla and tariqat they are teaching this. These days there are many people they forget this. They try to imitate what they done, the worst thing. Allah make us safe from these people.

Wa min Allah it-Tawfiq Al-Fatiha

A Logical Investment

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Mawlana Sheikh Mehmet Adil (QS), sohbat, March 17, 2015.

As-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

Madad ya RasulAllah. Audhu billahi min ash-shaytani r-rajim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. As-salatu wa s- salamu ala Rasulina Muhammadin Sayyidi l-awwalina wa l-akhirin. Madad ya RasulAllah, madad ya Sadati Ashabi RasulAllah, madad ya Mashaykhina, Mawlana Sheikh Abdullah Faiz Dagestani, Mawlana Sheikh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani, Qutub Osman Efendi Hz. madad.

• Allah Azza wa Jalla created this world as a tool, a means for investing in akhira.

Shukr to Allah, we are meeting again after several months in presence of the Saint. There are various people, but these people, the saints have the power of attraction. He can bring people from all over the world here. He doesn’t leave it empty and makes it full, shukr to Allah. The burden of this world is keeping people busy. People should actually think about akhira. Allah Azza wa Jalla created this world as a tool, a means for investing in akhira.

It is not logical when a man forgets the main purpose and falls for the tool. He should differentiate between them. If he follows his ego, forgets about the main target and falls for unnecessary things, then suffers from it, he will have lost and in the end go empty handed. There have been many people, billions of people since Adam, alaihi salam. Most of them forgot about the main purpose and fell for unnecessary things. So too with people nowadays. This is important to put into their minds.

Allah Azza wa Jalla gave thousands of examples in Qur’an, and in the hadith of our Prophetﷺ, and in old books. Here is another big example, if you ask people about the richest person in the world now, everyone will know his name, they will say this is the richest man. Who is the richest person of all times in this world? Qarun (Korah). Qarun was a relative of Hz. Musa. He probably was his uncle, a husband of his aunt. He was a close relation of Musa, alaihi salam.

Allah Azza wa Jalla told Musa, alaihi salam to write the Torah in gold. Musa, alaihi salam, told Allah Azza wa Jalla “I don’t have a penny, how can I write in gold?” Allah Azza wa Jalla had given the science of alchemy to Musa, alaihi salam. He turned some element into gold and wrote the Torah. Qarun was a poor man with children and he was a good person. He was praying day and night, fasting, worshipping, doing everything he could. Praying until morning and the children were nearly dying of hunger. Musa, alaihi salam felt upset at this as nothing seemed bad. He was truly a good person.

Musa, alaihi salam then thought as he was such a good man, his children should be in comfort. So he taught him alchemy . When Qarun learned it, he started making money. As the money increased, he forgot the main target, he fell for the tool. He forgot the target and ran after money. He collected so much money that it took 70 camels just to carry the keys of his treasures. He had one thousand guards with golden swords, a thousand men and a thousand women. His richness could not be imagined. He was the richest person of all times in this world. Since Allah created Adam, alaihi salam there has been no man richer than him.

Musa, alaihi salam told him to give zakat for his wealth. First he thought about it, then he decided it’s not possible and told Musa, alaihi salam, he would give it, because if he said no, he would fall in the eyes of his nation. Allah Azza wa Jalla is showing something in Qur’an. Some people with a weak ego would wish they had been as rich as Qarun. Though Musa, alaihi salam spoke to Qarun, he objected, saying he had made everything from his science, collecting so much money. He said “Why should I give zakat?” Musa, alaihi salam was a majestic prophet, he became angry at Qarun.

Qarun realised that because he wouldn’t give up he would make a trap to belittle Musa alaihi salam in front of people so that he may be released from the word he had given. He went to a prostitute and offered to pay her if she claimed that Musa alaihi salam had committed adultery with her. He gave her so much money that the woman agreed. She was doing everything for money anyway. Musa, alaihi salam, was giving a sohba, majestically making a khutba to his nation, telling them not to rob, not to kill, not to commit adultery etc. and that, there is big punishment for adultery.

Qarun got up and asked if it applied to him as well. He said, “If I do it, I will be punished too”. Qarun said, “There is a woman here who claims you committed adultery with her. Stand up, woman, confess”. Allah Azza wa Jalla certainly protects His Prophet. The woman got up and said, “This man paid me so much money so I may accuse you. He’s lying. Musa, alaihi salam is clean. He didn’t do anything. This is the liar”. Musa, alaihi salam struck his stick from anger, and the earth split open taking half of the people down. He begged repentance but Musa alaihi salam didn’t listen, in his majesty, he struck again. The earth swallowed him up with all his people.

All his money and wealth went under the ground as well. Sheikh Efendi said that it is still sinking. All his treasure is going deeper and deeper. Therefore, some people say they’re looking for Qarun’s treasure. There’s nothing like this. They won’t find it. This is a big example for people that this man could live million years with that treasure. But as we said, despite seeing so many miracles in his short life, he was defeated and destroyed by his ego. His money brought him no benefit.

There are thousands of stories like this. People listen but most of them don’t take a lesson from it. Insha’Allah, may we be the ones who take a lesson in order to not forget our true target. The target is to reach Allah. You still live, rich or poor. Allah gives provisions to everyone. Nobody dies while his provision is appointed. If a man dies of hunger, then his rizq has finished, that much was written for him. He dies of hunger. And no one lives longer by eating more. One can die from overeating as well.

Allah Azza wa Jalla said to Musa, alaihi salam, “O Musa, this man asked for mercy from you and you didn’t accept it. He asked 4 times. If he asked Me sincerely once, I would forgive him”. There is big wisdom there. That person has forgotten Allah even in that position. Whether he was tricking for himself to be rescued, or something else, he forgot Allah. Even with a trick, Allah is merciful. He would accept and forgive. No one has the mercy Allah has. The Mercy of Allah is huge and endless. No matter how much you sin and make mistakes, Allah will forgive. It is good news.

If Allah was merciful to the nation of Musa, alaihi salam, He could be a thousand times more to the nation of our Prophetﷺ. During ancient times, in times of Musa, alaihi salam, if someone did wrong, Allah’s anger would cover the whole village. Now if a whole village does wrong and one man does right, everyone will be forgiven and shown mercy for his honor. At least, blessings won’t stop in this world. Therefore, we see Jewish people now, wherever they go, they stick to their religion, but ours, not so much. They treat it very carefully because then Allah had ordered so to Musa, alaihi salam and they follow him ever since.

However they’re still forgetting the main thing that Musa, alaihi salam had said about our Prophetﷺ. They didn’t accept him because he wasn’t from them. They came up to Madina so that he would be one of them. Even then he didn’t and they didn’t accept. Of course, some accepted. But the main majority didn’t accept. They had the greatest scholar Ka’ab al-Ahbar. When he became Muslim, he said “When they come to our Prophet, ask them about me, what kind of person I am. Then after they speak about me, tell them I became Muslim.”

So they came to speak and the talk reached this Sahaba. When asked about him, they said he was one of their greatest scholars. His fathers and grandfathers were from very good people. They described him so well, then our Prophet said “You described him as a good man. If he believes in me, will you believe too?” They said it was impossible and started swearing at this man. They accept truth as they like. They don’t accept the real truth. They have made a picture and they follow it. They follow their ego. It is a virtue to accept the truth. May Allah make us among those accepting the truth and truthfulness, insha’Allah. May Allah be pleased with you.

Wa min Allahi tawfeeq, al-Fatiha.

Sheikh Abdullah, The Right Address

In this strong sohbat Sheikh Bahauddin questions the correctness of those who say they are inheritors of Sheikh Abdullah. He reiterates the fact that Sheikh Nazim was Sheikh Abdullah’s only murid and only inheritor and that he in turn named Sheikh Mehmet as his inheritor. (Source:

Sheikh Bahauddin Adil Al-Haqqani

Opera! We are not opera people. But if we want we can do opera. This is important, what you can do. In this life, it is important what you can do. Alhamdulillah Allah Almighty He gives His servants so many options. He can hunt, he can sing, he can laugh, he can cry. He can be sad, he can be angry, he can be calm, he can sleep. And he can dance, he can sing, he can.. He has talents, he can be a poet, he can be wiseman, he can be ignorant man, he can be everything. That means he has full options. Allah Almighty, He gave everything for His servants. No servant can say, “I am not having this, or I am not having that.” They say, the genius brain uses only 4% or 3.5% in general from the whole brain. So what you think the rest is doing? It has been created for nothing? It has been put there for nothing? No, must have a reason. When the servant says “Ya Rabbi, You didn’t make me to do this, this, this.” “My servant, it is in your brain, and it is ready for use, but you didn’t know how to use it.” It is not Allah Almighty’s fault, it is your fault! But Allah Almighty doesn’t give the key, this is something else.

Now, Subhan Allah from where to where Mawlana Shaykh is sending. I am surprised, I am surprised also. We don’t have spiritual contact with the Awliya’, that’s wrong. If you claim that you have spiritual contact with Awliya, this is wrong. Because you have to look for yourself first. Say, do I have this level to be -I’m talking dunya wise- in Minister office to talk to him. I am not saying, Minister of the super power of the world, America. Not the super power of the world, Russia. No. Or not the super power of any China. No! I am saying I want to be with the Minister of small country as Cyprus. Very small, tiny country. If I am very lucky and I am chasing too much I will have an appointment in maybe, somebody like me, it will take him 2 days. Somebody, I’m not saying so high, but below me, will take him 1 week. And it is going like this. Some people will never get it. They will get it when it’s election time because that Minister he needs a vote so he goes for everybody, he can be with everybody.

This is the other face of our realistic world. But for Awliya they don’t need a vote for them. They don’t need to praise them and they don’t need to tell them “you are this, and this Maqam and this.” No they don’t need this. Because Allah Almighty He is the one giving to them. This is the difference between our world and their world. So when I say, I am in the spiritual contact with my Shaykh and I fully recover what I am talking, this should be wrong. We have to understand right and wrong. Because everything has 2 sides, one is wrong and one is right. If you understand wrong, you can continue in wrong way going all the way. Because your understanding already clicked in the wrong side. But if you understand right you click in the right side and you continue in the right side. This is how it works. It is so simple, you don’t have to make this mathematic formula and how to do it and which kind plus, minus, divide this. No need. It is either you click in the wrong or you click in the right. This is how simple it is.

Now, the spiritual things that your Shaykh that you already connecting to him, he keeps sending his spiritual ways, never stop. These spiritual ways is going on, on, on. But you are the one saying “Ya Sayyidi I am ready to take this spiritual way from you.” Why you are believing in mobile phones and not believing in Awliya? No, if you go 50 years back we see the mobile phone in American movies, in the car. I remember this, taking..talking and “wow what a technology” they say. “What a huge thing, like something impossible.” Maybe it was fake in those day, or maybe it was right, I am not sure. But it was the idea to say “look guys we are going there.” And also it is important to understand where you are going, because to know where you are going also is very important.

I am in London. I don’t know where to go, I am in London. So what? But if you say I am in London I am going for this address, you can go. This is the exact thing that we have to take. It is not the things that, to imagine that you are there and then you don’t know the address. Al- Hamdulillah Mawlana Shaykh when he left he said to continue taking my spiritual wave – it will be from Shaykh Mehmet, from Shaykh Muhammad. Nobody else! Nobody else. I can say this very clear, nobody else. Don’t think about it! This is not belonging to you, don’t cry for it, it is not belonging to you. It is for him. Who appoint him? He (Mawlana Shaykh Nazim) appoint him. Did he appoint him personally? Yes he appointed him personally.

Is he the one that needs to approve his appointing? This is another question. Big question. Who I am to ask Mawlana Shaykh “can you approve this one, the one you appointed Ya Sayyidi?” What a bad manner! What bad manners! Cannot be more than this worse manner. Cannot be! It is the worse of the worse. As asking “are you sure you appoint this gentleman, are you sure? And appointing me. Why appoint me? I am better.” Say, “No you are not better, he is better and I appoint him.” You cannot question the order of the Sultan. You cannot tell the Sultan “your Majesty, your decision is wrong.” Never happened in history. Never happened in history to request or to investigate the Sultan’s order. This is the top level. This is everybody is responsible for the top level. If you do a mistake or if you try you are responsible for top level. But the top level he cannot make mistakes in this way. Because he has another top level above him and telling him “O beloved Shaykh Nazim, O Sultan ul Awliya’ we are saying to do this, this, this.”

Mawlana Shaykh with all his majesty, he was sitting and he says “I am waiting order to come to me and then I make it happen.” This is Mawlana Shaykh. If you understand right, you can go in the right direction. But if you go for the wrong, you click there, you think that you are going in the right. It doesn’t matter This is up to you. I like to go in history of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. It is so important point about Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah personality because all of us, we don’t know Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. None of us, and the people they know, they know. Now, who is Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah? It’s a big question. He is Sultan ul Awliya’ and he is number 39 of the golden chain. This is known. And who is number 40 of the golden chain? It is Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim how he take this ocean from the chest of Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah and put it in his chest. This is an ocean.

Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah he was personally with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim in Khalwa/seclusion. Nobody else. Nobody, except Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah he was making khalwa on his own when he was young through Mawlana S. Sharafuddin and then, he make khalwa with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, only. Nobody else. Nobody was able to stand up (carry) the manifestation that Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah he was getting and nobody can be in his presence specially in the seclusion. This must be understood. It is easy to go out and say “I was with Mawlana..” I was with Mawlana S.Abdullah. Maybe I’m better than you when I was with Mawlana S.Abdullah. You never know. Maybe Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah he was loving me more than you, because I was pure and you are not. I was innocent, but you were grown up. Maybe you were not innocent as me. This is also a question matter. But, this is not the subject.

The subject is, Mawlana S. Abdullah did he make khalwa with you? Did he put you in seclusion with him, in the same room? Can you say this? No. When Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah he was out of operation he make the last seclusion with Mawlana Shaykh in Beirut, in my sister’s room. Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. 24hrs the door was not open. Nobody can go in. What is this? 24hrs the Shaykh with his successor, with his beloved one. This is Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. This is the 3rd seclusion that they’ve been alone, nobody, nobody (else). This is how we have to understand, the right and the wrong.

There is history from Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. He passed away 1973 and until 2014 who was the ruling Shaykh? How many years? 40. 41 year! 41 year. It’s a big space. We are away from Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah, 41 years. I am away from Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah 41 year. I was 10 when he passed away. If, I am saying for the murids. They were not seeing Mawlana S. Abdullah you cannot jump these 41 years and get your benefit from Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. Actually Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah he didn’t give you the benefit, he gave it to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. So clearly he gave it to Mawlana S. Nazim. Mawlana S. Nazim is the one. He is the one making everything one. This must be understood. Because if you don’t understand this it is wrong. You are in the wrong way.

You have to understand who is your Shaykh. Your Shaykh is not Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. He is not your Shaykh. He is Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s Shaykh. We don’t have any connection with him. He is, Shaykh of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. Because we cannot carry Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. I am not saying, disrespect. No, I’m not saying disrespect. Don’t misunderstand. There is…minimize our size to get our real size. Our mistake is when we put a beard and we wear Naqshbandi, and wear turbans, we think that we are flying. No, we are not flying. You have to step in the ground you have to understand who you are. Because one of the biggest thing that ego love to put the turban and the beard and say “I am now becoming something.” Don’t forget this one.

Don’t think the ego takes you for nightclub or for gambling or for women or doesn’t make you to pray. No, this is.. this is nothing. The ego is playing in bigger place. The ego never plays in small place. Small place is gambling women, nightclubs. All this for ego it is it is nothing. It doesn’t care, ego doesn’t have this calculation at all. This is you have to understand how to treat your ego. When you put your turban, and you make the turban bigger and bigger then you leave your beard bigger, and bigger… then the ego says yes “now you are completed!” Yes. This is reality, this is reality. You have to wake up! This you have to wake up! You cannot carry this heavy burden. It is heavy burden.

Now I am not saying that I will be something. I am not saying I will be big Awliya’ I am talking just I am talking coffee talk. Why you say it’s coffee talk? Yes it is coffee talk, because there is no ibdi’a, there is no claim. There is no claim. If anybody will be happy here. If nobody will be happy also, that’s no… Now we have to know that when Shaykh Sharafuddin (qas) the Shaykh of Grand Shaykh Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. He was saying “Abdullah Effendi you are my murid you are my successor. But the feet that you put in your maqam I cannot see, they’re so high. “So imagine the 38 of the Golden Chain says this to S. Abdullah and we are saying and Mawlana S. Abdullah is our Shaykh. No it is not your Shaykh! You are not having this specific to be his murid. You have to understand this.

Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah he was extremely Jalali. Jalali you know what it means Jalali, extremely disciplined. Nobody can play like we play today. No way! He was not joking, and then he said “Nazim Effendi I am leaving you to be Jamali.” That’s why we are lucky to be with Mawlana S. Nazim because he was all the time showing us the beauty face of tariqa. The beauty face that he tolerated in all the fields. Then we are feeling the beauty of Tariqa. So many people know, all the Tariqas if you go first thing they tell you “you have to be disciplined. You have to be in this shape, you have to be like this, like this.” Except Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. He said “you come in it’s ok. After that we sort the problem. No problem. We can be ok with you, just you come. Enter. I am not asking you to be in this form, or be in this shape or…you come, you come.” He is like the father for everybody saying, “ok my children some of them naughty, some of them good. But it’s ok they are my children. You just come. After that we solve the problem.” This is how Mawlana Shaykh was treating us.

But Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah, no way! No way! I was having small memories with him. One day I was going to my aunt’s house. And my school was morning, my sister’s school was in the afternoon. My mother she said “wait for your sister to finish her school and take her with you.” And I say, Uh! Yeah and I left her and I went to my aunty. The second day when I come back this come to the ear of Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah. I was 8 years old. When it came to the ear of Shaykh Abdullah he said “bring him to me!” Yes! I was going to kiss his hand and I find Shaykh Mustafa, may Allah bless him, running after me. “Grand Shaykh he wants you.” What!! I ran! I ran! And then he know he catch me and he bring me to Grand Shaykh. And Grand Shaykh he was giving me such a hard lesson. I was talking and I was crying all night.

And then I remember I must care about everything. I must be careful about everything. It is not your way to say “I am free. Ok my sister she can be at home I can be alone. No problem.” No, this is how Mawlana Shaykh he was treated every small things and big things. To make you understand. This is how he was, Jalali and sharp. Now, if you tell me somebody did this…”Ok no problem. Maybe next time he will take his sister.” But Mawlana Shaykh would never say like this He make it perfect. So don’t go there. If you go there you will burn. Don’t go there be in the mercy side, my advice – to be with Mawlana S. Nazim, not to be with Mawlana S. Abdullah. I am not advising. Personally I would never go. Because when I was 8 years old I take it! I take it and I am still remembering. Now I am over 50 and I am still remembering and will never forget. Until I die I will never forget this.

It is Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah it is not for us, it is for Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. And this must be known. Today we are talking history just to lighten our future. This I am saying for all the murids that they think they are clever. And they think they can do something and they play with words and make it word magician. And make it “O Yes! Maybe it is like this.” It is not philosophy. It is not philosophy, this is Tariqa. And Tariqa has rules and regulations. You go for banking saying “I want to put this money.” Saying, “no this money you have to prove from where it’s coming, this money has to be tax paid.” And the bank, even you bring big money, it will be bigger problem for you. You have to explain from where you get this money. You have to explain why we believe in banking systems and we are escape from it. And we don’t believe in Naqshibandi system and we are feeling very free from it. And the banking system if this happens, this, this.

But that one is for your eternal life and you are playing with your eternal life, this is my warning for me personally and then I am warning everybody that they think they are clever, they think they are genius. And they think they are on right and they think whatever they do, it is right! And they think whatever it is coming to them and if somebody tell them some advice that it is right because it is for their benefit. Mawlana Shaykh never think about his benefit. If Mawlana Shaykh think about his benefit, today he must have left billions. And Mawlana Shaykh he didn’t leave any one single cent or one single penny, or one single dollar or one single euro. Alhamdulillah he said “I am free. What Allah Almighty He give me, I distribute. What Allah Almighty He was giving to me, I give.”

Alhamdulillah we are happy to say this one and we are proud of Mawlana Shaykh by doing this. We are not asking his inheritance. We are not asking his wealth. We are asking only his blessings. And we are asking to be in his Ikhlas. And to be under his feet. Very important. To be under your Shaykh feet it is very very important. This must be clear and understandable because otherwise our loss will be very big. I keep warning, and I will keep warning until the things will be fixed. If not fixed, I will keep warning. I don’t care my duty is warning. Mawlana Shaykh if he put me here to speak I am speaking as a warner. I am nothing. If you like to listen, it’s ok. If you don’t like to listen also is ok. But my duty is to warn.

You know the traffic light it is having red orange and green. It is time, 4’o clock after midnight. Nobody in the streets, but this light will have the system…. Never fed up. I am like this light never be fed up! I will keep warning…if there are some people to listen, yes. If there are some people that are not listening, also yes. I’m doing my traffic light duty and wa min Allahi t-tawfiq. Bi hurmati l-Habib, bi hurmati l-Fatiha.

Laylatu-l Qadr, Laylatu-l Qurb

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (QS), Sohbat, 3rd August, 2013.

There has never been anyone who opened his hands (for help) and returned from the Sultan’s door empty-handed. Sahhih ‘akidataka- Correct your belief.

Welcome to you, O yaran Shah Mardan. O holy one! May you teach us, we came to be taught by you. If you hit the right side of an untrained donkey, it goes left. If you hit its left side, it goes right. It is not trained. There should be a training. Madad Ya Rijal Allah, madad Ya Shah Mardan. O yaran Shah Mardan. May we be beautiful. May we be sweet. May we be majestic. They don’t use a mangy donkey at the door of the Sultan- Sultan uses a Kuhaylan (Arabian horse). Our Janab-i Mawla is the source of Lutf-ul Karam (Generous Grants) and we ask to be majestic, not miskeen (lazy & helpless). We are at the door of such a Sultan that being miskeen is not suitable, being majestic is suitable. One should know this. One should learn this.

Yes, the Sultan does not use a skinny horse at his door. He has a kuhaylan that scares the lions- the Sultan- that even a lion is afraid from it. Who can’t scare shaytan is in the category of trash. Madad Ya RijalAllah, madad Ya Shah Mardan. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Your yaran are your admirers. Slowly, Al ‘ilmu bi’t-ta’allum. Knowledge is gained day by day, no one can learn in one day all at once. Bi’t ta’allum- wa l-hilmu bi’t ta’allum. Is it not like this? Come in, welcome to you the ahbab of Shah Mardan- who are filled with the muhabbat/ love of Shah Mardan, who ask Nur from Shah Mardan – welcome. You came to such a door that has no equal, no like.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. We are weak servants. ‘Abiduka dhu’afa, qawwi dha’fana bi Quwwatika Ya Rabb. We are weak servants. “Wa Khuliqa Al-‘Insanu Da’ifaan” (4:28). Is it not a Verse? Man was created weak. Qawwi dha’fana fi Ridak! O our Lord, may You remove our weakness. O Shah Mardan, may our weakness be lifted off us. May we be like the kuhaylan of the Sultan, may we not be in the category of miskeen donkeys that go and after a while fall down. May we be a kuhaylan that is worthy of the Sultan. Masha Allah. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. May you go ahead and explain to us, so that we understand. Yu’allimuhum, ta’allam wa ‘allim. Even if you don’t know, learn and teach. What should you learn? Well, what did we learn? To plow a field. What did we learn? To shepherd. What did we learn? To be a doorman. There are 360 crafts in dunya. Who doesn’t believe it can count, right S. Mehmet Effendi? There are all kinds of talents. What is the best of talents? Go ahead O Shah Mardan, your yaran are your admirers. Let them hear it. The best of the talents is adab.

No one has managed to draw close to his Lord by taking a way other than adab. Shah-i Jehan- our Master, the Sultan (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Addabani Rabbi- My Lord taught me adab”. And it continues- “Wa qarrabani- and brought me close – nearness to Allah, my Lord taught me this (Adab). I didn’t learn it from anyone else. Addabani Rabbi- He taught me the adab for being close to His Essence/Dhat-u Ajalli ‘Ala”. It is the assembly of Shah Mardan’s lovers- no one has ever come empty and returned empty from that assembly. Everyone has received a share. May we take a share too. Khudh naseebak/Take your share. Allahumma qawwi dha’fi fi Ridak. We are weak our Lord.

There are lions of Yours who can remove our weakness. There are holy servants of Yours who can teach us adab. Each adab is a level and there is no end to the levels. Who are in the category of donkeys continue with their donkey-ness. They don’t ask to be a horse, don’t ask to be a Man either. “My situation is good like this, I am comfortable” they say. They carry burdens and they bray too. They scared even the lion when they brayed: “What a majestic animal is this?” it scared the lion like this. You see? Well, the lion has never heard a voice like that in its life, it got astonished: “What a majestic creature is this that it even scared me”. Don’t bray like the braying of donkeys. No, be like the roaring of lions.

Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Allahu Dhu-l Jalal, Al-Yazdan didn’t create you to be a donkey. Allah Almighty didn’t create you as a beast of burden-know this, learn this. Al Khaliqu-l Yazdan Allah Almighty didn’t create you to be the donkey of dunya. Allah Almighty didn’t create you, saying “carry the burden that I load you down in dunya”. Allah Almighty didn’t make you the animal of dunya. Don’t forget. But what did shaytan turn the people into? May it be far from us, it turned the people into the animals of dunya. Shaytan made the people animals of dunya. And Man – “Wa Khuliqa Al-‘Insanu Da’ifaan”- was created weak. The meaning of weak is gentle- he is created gentle. He is not created for the burdens donkeys carry. Dunya- dunya is the burden of shaytan. It looks for someone “who should I load up?” It wants to load it onto Man who is gentle. Man is not a porter.

“Wa Humilati Al-‘Ardu Wa Al-Jibalu” (69:14). Is it a Holy Verse? “Humilat”, bore the burden but that burden is a burden that gives honour. And Man is honoured with such an honour that no one can be above that honour. Allah Almighty placed His Amanat/Trust on him. Man bore the Amanat that neither Heavens nor Earths could bear. It was offered to the mountains & stones “Who will bear this Amanat?” They said “O Lord, forgive us. Forgive us, we can’t do it”. Who did it? Who did it, who took that burden? “Wa Hamalaha l-‘Insanu” (33:72). Man bore it. Man didn’t take the Amanat for carrying fertilizer. There is such an honour for Man, that mountains, stones are offered to bear it but the mountains, stones said “We can’t accept it, we can’t bear it”. O Man, know your honour. Come in O seekers of Shah Mardan, who want to take faydh/benefit from him – listen. Know your honour. If Man knew his honour, it would be peaceful & quiet on earth. If Man knew his honour no one would insult one another, no one would oppress one another, no one would look down on another. This is the honour of Man. Get used to this O those who wander around claiming to be Men but are not aware of humanity.

Today’s humanity is not aware of humanity. The Bible, Torah, Zabur and the Holy Quran are sent to the people to teach them the level of humanity. “Wa Ma ‘Allamnahu sh-Shi’ra” (36:69). “We didn’t teach him poetry”. “Wa ‘Allamnahu Min Ladunna ‘Ilmaan” (18:65). We granted him a knowledge from Ladun/from Us. Our Master, the Sultan of the Prophets- Salawatullahi wa salamu alaik- knew his mission. And when he knew his mission, he learned what was necessary for him to fulfill that mission. “Addabani Rabbi. My Lord taught me adab”. Allah Almighty taught him how he should behave. Allah Almighty taught the Master of Creation (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). “‘Allamani Rabbi” (12:37). Addabani Rabbi fa’ahsana ta’dibi. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. Yes. Yawmun jadeed, rizqun jadeed.

O Shah Mardan, your knowledge is a jewel. O people, take from that jewel. And each Prophet also came with a kind of jewel. The jewel Prophet Jesus brought is different. The jewel Prophet Moses brought is different and the jewel Prophet Solomon brought is different. What is what Prophet Solomon brought? Innahu min Sulaymana wa innahu Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. (27:30) The great Nabi, Prophet Solomon, from whose azamat/ greatness Heavens & earth would tremble, he also brought- he brought an amanat/ trust to mankind. “Innahu min Sulaymana wa innahu Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim”. There is an amanat, there is a jewel that each Prophet brought to make Men draw near to his Lord. To draw near to his Lord – this is the goal of the Men, to gain nearness to Allah. We want nearness to Allah. What else should we want? There is nothing for us with the Kings of this time.

For us, a nearness – such a nearness that it happens, its tahqiq/reality happens one night a year. On one night a year, how does a servant draw near to Allah Almighty? Its definition comes- the Laylatu-l Qadr. On the Laylatu-l Qadr, when that manifestation takes place, everything is in sajda. O Lord, may You not deprive us of that sajda. May we make sajda for You our Lord. May we dive into Your Nur O Lord. Grant us strength O Lord and we will raise Your banners. We will destroy the banners of the enemy of mankind. We acknowledge the flag of azamat the Prophet of the end of times brought and we run to be under it. Sahibu-l Liwa Al Hamd- the flag of Praise belongs to our Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). In dunya and in akhirah also his flag will be called, raised and all Prophets will run to be under it. May Allah grant us honour & in dunya also may we be under that Liwa Al-Hamd which the Glorious Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) carries.

May we be dressed with the level of the honour of humanity. Leave the fighting. Leave the savagery. The beauty and elegance of Man- “Wa la-qad karramna Bani Adam” (17:70). Don’t debase the children of Adam who Allah honoured and exalted. This is in the Bible, in Torah, in Zabur too; it is in all the books. Prophet Adam was crowned with this crown of happiness, with this crown of honour in Paradise. Try to keep it. All of us have it but shaytan drives people in the opposite way. O our Lord, You have all these fresh and beautiful ways.

It is tonight which is the Laylatu-l Qadr, the famous. It is a manifestation. Once that manifestation is opened, whatever is there standing, falls down in sajda. Even the ants are in sajda. Al-Azamatu Lillah, wa l-‘Izzatu Lillah, wa l-Jabarut Lillah. May Allah open it for you. May He open our hearts. What beauties are there, what beauties are there, what honours are there. Yes, when that “Innahu min Sulaiman” came, that Bismillah brought so much to the Queen of Sheba. It is the Bismillah from Sulaiman. When it is recited upon the order coming from Rabbu-l Izzat you can’t describe or explain the rank that comes with it, S. Mehmet Effendi.

For this, let us say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. And we gain honour, we gain strength, we gain beauty. May we not be rejected from the Door of Acceptance of Rabbul Izzat. What night is it, the Laylatu-l Qadr? It is equal to “Alfi Shahr/1000 months”- which month, in which scale, which time is it? We can’t define it. Masha’ Allahu kana, wa ma lam yasha’ lam yakun. Go ahead O Shah Mardan. The arena is all yours. May you teach and we learn.

Tawfiq/success is from Allah Almighty. Let us say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim and march. If you say it & march, there will be no closed doors left in front of you. There will be no creature left that does not respect you. Say Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim and blow on yourself. They don’t teach it because they worship shaytan. They worship idols, they worship imitated things. Leave these and make sajda in the Presence of Rabbu-l Izzat Who created you. Everything is in sajda on the Laylatu-l Qadr. Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Wa Lillah’il Hamd.

The Ocean of Being

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi(Qs), Sohbat, 14th July, 2013.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim | Sohbat

As-salāmu ‘alaykum, O attendees. “O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan”, from that point they make us start our speech. From wherever they make us start, is from where they open up a way for us. As-salāmu ‘alaykum, O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan. As-salām qabla l-kalām! Before speaking, give greetings of peace (salām)! Greetings of peace bring salamat, a state of well being, safety, and that means peace. Let us say, “astaghfiru-Llāh, I ask Allah for forgiveness!” Let’s be from those who are pure and clean! Allah loves those who are clean. “Inna-Llāha yuhibbu l-mutatahhirīn.” (2:222)

Our assembly is an assembly according to our own strength: An ant isn’t given the load of a bee, and a bee isn’t given the strength of a bird. Lā yukallifu-Llāhu nafsan illa wus‘ahā. (2:286) Allah doesn’t task a self beyond its capacity. Dastur, yā Rijāl Allāh. Madad, O Shah Mardan, support! O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan, welcome, O lovers of the Lion of Allah. With his love we live; by his purity we become pure; from his knightliness and his high aspiration we learn adab. O our Lord, how many are Your gracious Favours!

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Your brethren adore you lovingly. Your awe-inspiring appearance envelops the world and makes it shake. Learn adab, ta’addabu! Learn adab! What does it mean to learn adab, Shaykh Muhammad Effendi? It means to know your limits. Adab! Who is a person possessing adab? The person who knows his limits. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Explain to us about proper adab! Our Lord, Jalla Jalāluhu brought us into existence. From nothingness, from nonexistence, He brought us into existence. Here you go, O Shah Mardan, explain it, try to make your brethren understand. To those who are ready for your orders, who want to keep to your path, O servants of Allah, salāms (greetings of peace) to you! “Without salāms, there’s no goodness!”, he says. What’s his value? He’s an animal. An animal doesn’t give salāms nor does it understand the meaning of peace.

Dastur, yā Shah Mardan. Let us learn. Innama l-‘ilmu bi ta‘allum (Verily, knowledge is through learning) So let’s learn! Slowly, slowly we will learn the adab of entering into the (divine) Presence. It is not easy, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. There is a special adab of being in the Presence, entering into the Presence is step by step. Someone who doesn’t have a mentor by his side cannot simply present himself for a face-to-face meeting. O human, the rank of the Station of Divinity (Martabat al-Uluhiyya) is not just any kind of rank. No one can comprehend its reality! Our Lord, the Eternal Most High Being, He said, “I will create a new creature, to represent Myself: a khalīfa.” What does it mean, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, His khalīfa? “I will create a new creature that will represent Myself”. The angels fell down prostrate, all the majestic angels lay trembling in prostration before the Exalted Lord of Might and Glory.

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. We are incapable, according to our state, of bearing even the magnificence of His Words, but there are noble Angels, majestic Angels. Allah Allah! Even those majestic Angels fell trembling into prostration. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. So how did it all start? “I will create”, He proclaimed, the All-Compelling (al-Jabbār) Owner of all Greatness (al-Mutakabbir). O Allah Most High, Possessor of absolute Might, Glory and Majesty! He declared, “I will create a new creature to represent Myself. Allāhu akbar! Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. Adjust to it, O you human animals, who don’t want to rise above the rank of being animals, insisting to remain in the category of quadrupeds, as speaking animals, a creature that can speak. Be careful! What kind of honor comes to you?

Allah, the Possessor of all Majesty, Magnificence, Greatness and Sovereignty, our Lord, He said, “I will create.” The noble Angels said, “We are always busy with Your servanthood, O our Lord. This one, which You are creating, is being given preference over us, he will be above us. We were hoping that this rank would be granted to us.” “You were created for a special purpose and to fulfill this is your duty, no one should interfere in someone else’s affair!” In this Presence, giving orders and existence to creation is the privilege of the Lord of Might and Glory. That’s what you must understand. Who is the Lord of Might and Glory? Allah Most High. Amruhu bayna l-kāf wa n-nūn (His order is between kāf and nūn) He is the One, who, if He wants a thing, orders it saying “Be! Kun” and it is. Thanks belong to Allah!

Welcome to this congregation, O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan. Mā shā’ Allahu kāna wa mā lam yashā’ lam yakūn. What Allah wills happens and what He doesn’t will does not! Here you go, O Shah Mardan. We are weak servants. You are weak, but your weakness may go. Allah Most High doesn’t say “Stay weak!” “Prostrate to Me”, He said to the angels; and with each prostration (sajda) the noble angels increase in their knowledge of the Divine. Allah Haqq! Allah Hu, Allah Haqq! Allah Hu, Allah Haqq! Proclaim “Allah Hu” I am saying. There’s no need to tell them to proclaim it, because they live by it, but a life by eating and drinking is the life of animals. Real human life is by “Allah Hu, Allah Haqq! Allah Hu, Allah Haqq!”, you go beyond earths, reaching to heavens. Here you go, O Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. Explain it, so we may learn!

His (swt) greatness and His power have no limits. They go beyond every description. He is the Lord of Might and Glory and all-overwhelming Power (jabarūt). When Jabarūt is mentioned, the whole universe starts to shake in its place, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. Allahu Dhū l-Jalāl wa ‘Azamat (the Possessor of Majesty and Greatness) Allah’s greatness and all-overwhelming power (Jabarūt), when His all-overwhelming power is mentioned, no one can give its meaning, they all fall down prostrate. When the manifestation of Allahu Dhū l-Jalāl wa Jabarut appears, there remains no one who does not fall down prostrate, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. That’s why our exalted Protector loves those, who perform sajda. Let us be among them! Our honor lies in prostrating to our Lord. O Allah, whose greatness and grandeur are without limits, Dhū l-‘Arshi wa l-Qudrati (Possessor of the Throne and Almightiness) wa l-Jabarūt.

When al-jabarūt is mentioned nobody really understands what exactly is meant; they can’t even get near it! It is a term related to Divine Unity, O Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, it is not for us. It is a magnificent word: Allahu Dhū l-‘Arshi wa l-Jabarūt. Allah. Here you go, O Shah Mardan! Shah Mardan, who with his sword Dhū l-Fiqqār in his hand, approached the fortress of Khaybar in his awe-inspiring majesty. To the watchman of this fortress of the Jews he said, “Soldier, is there anyone who dares to come out against me?” One of the leaders of the Jews said, “I do, I’m the owner of this fortress!” “Are you? So are you ready to come down onto this field?” “I am ready”, he replied. Our distinguished master ‘Alī was clad in such robes of majesty. When that leader of the Jews said “I am ready to oppose you”, he said, “Are you?” Hardly were the words “Are you?”, “I am”, spoken, when he struck the Jew with his sword Dhū l-Fiqqār. Nothing remained of the Jew nor of his head, it fell down to the ground. Water gushed forth from the earth. You saw it. I drank from that water. It still flows, that blessed spring in the desert.

O people, look for spiritual orientation! Don’t be like some chopped off, dried up tree trunks! Be sensitive! Learn what perfection is and prostrate. Allāhu Akbar! Mercy, O my Lord! If Shah Mardan had wished, with one strike of his sword he could have split the whole world into halves like a melon. Did anything like that happen? We’re in the world of possibilities, I am not discussing whether it happened or not. It may happen or not, but he is the invincible hero. Can he do it? If he wants, he can split the world into halves. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. Let’s open up, let our spiritual power appear! Let our souls rejoice! “Tarīqatunā as-suhba”, “our way”, he says “is the way of association”. Speak, if permission comes to your heart! He has permission, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi, he may speak. After entering inside it opens up more and more. What marvelous things open up! What wonderful roses open up, what beautiful rose gardens appear! What is this? It’s our view of things.

Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Rabbī Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Hasbī Hasbunā-Llāh wa ni‘ma l-wakīl. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. “We’ll take these small humans along a little distance on the way into the spiritual world”, he said. “That’s why they are making you speak now. Really, our words aren’t worth mentioning.” Astaghfiru-Llāh – that’s what they say. Along the way Shah Mardan arranges for the Son’s of Man to be told a few realities, like – “What is the definition of man?” “Al-insān haywān nātiq”, someone says, “Man is a speaking animal.” This is not the correct definition. Look at what Shah Mardan is saying. “He (Man) is the khalīfa representing his Lord. He is a highly honored creature, created to represent the Lord of Might and Glory in this world.” Be honorable! Who is without honor is an animal. Who is honorable is a human being. Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi l-hamd.

Let’s not get tired! Say it, proclaim it everywhere! Proclaim it, in whichever gathering you enter! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi l-hamd. If man learns two words a day, he gets closer to being human. Every human has a rank of humanness, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. To reach your given rank there is a certain way to educate you. To detach him from this detestable world, there exist for every human being possessors of powerful forces who pull him towards the heavenly dominions. They are the beloved ones of Allah and Shah Mardan is the beloved of Allah’s Beloved (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam). Love those whom Allah loves, O you, who claim to be humans! They claim to be humans, dressing according to the latest fashion, our men as well as our women. But really, by dressing fashionably a human, cannot reach his human identity. The human possesses a higher reality. You should look to learn about it! This is what Shah Mardan is explaining now, O beloved brethren of Shah Mardan. Allah Allah.

May they make it our path to follow the way of these lions. Let us learn adab. This assembly is an assembly of adab. That’s why in former times it said everywhere “Adab, yā Hu!” Teach this, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi! Teach it. Let them learn that there has to be adab. “Adab, yā Hu!”, learn adab! Who has no adab – out the door with him! Who has adab is accepted inside. If you see someone who doesn’t watch his steps, throw him out! Know your place, young man! Know, where you’re stepping! Know, where you have to stop! Learn who you are, know what your duties are! Don’t be an evil servant of this evil world! The people of today have become servants in the service of shaytān and this evil world. All people are after is to serve this evil world. They have no value, no value at all.

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Who is a human being? Teach it to your brethren! “‘Allamanī Rabbī”, “My Lord taught me.” What can be higher than that? “Addabanī Rabbī”, He taught me adab. Adab! Nowadays, the whole world is without adab. They’ve become the laughingstock of shaytān. To destroy each other, they have produced countless devilish inventions. They don’t have any value. O human, O human, look at the address coming from on high. Prophet Ādam was created. The exalted Lord of Might and Glory said, “Yā Ādam, khalaqtuka”, “O Ādam, I have created you, to be My khalīfa”, He said. The meaning of “My khalīfa”, says Shah Mardan, is – “Make yourself ready to be My servant! Be ready for servanthood!

A person who doesn’t know servanthood is an animal. Dressing fancily, pinning on fake medals and decorations doesn’t make you human. These kinds of things are also attached to horses necks; they stick some bangles on a horse and say, “It makes it gallop nicely.” But you, you are not a horse, you are not a stallion! You are not a bear. You are not a wolf. Your place is high and lofty. You are a human being. You were created to be the master of creation.

The term “ocean of existence” – here you go, O Shah Mardan – the Lord of Might and Glory’s “ocean of existence” means that the beings He brought into existence are countless and without a limit. He is Allah, al-Jabbār (the Irresistible Compeller). He is al-Jabbār, Allah, the Possessor of Majesty. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. “Learn adab!”, he says, “and all doors will open for you, but if you don’t learn adab, every direction will be closed for you. Nothing!” Adab is learnt from those who possess adab. Let it be written everywhere: “Adab, yā Hu!” Let this be written and hung in every place! The same goes for “Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim”. Say it and let it be written and hang it up in every place!

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. O Lion of Allah, your brethren adore you lovingly. We are asking for power. But we’re not asking for horse power. No! We want neither horse power, nor ox power, nor elephant power. The power we want is that kind of power, which pushes us forward on the ways of adab. Sit with adab! Get up with adab! Everyone who has ever won a rank in the Presence of Allah the Majestic has only won it by way of adab. The Turks took down the Basmalah, they took down the Basmalah and hung up a picture in its place. The two don’t go together. They are watching them from Heaven. Without stopping to watch, He is leaving them – “Leave those, they’ve left the ranks of humanity and have entered the category of quadruped animals. Let them enter it”, He said. Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi lhamd.

We’ll get used to it. “Addabanī Rabbī”, “My Lord taught me adab”, the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam) says. A human without adab is not worth five pence. Here you go, O Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. Teach us the ways of servanthood of our Lord. And bring down our wicked ego, because our wicked ego is with shaytān. We’ll leave the evil traits of our character. If we don’t acquire the good adab that is coming down from heavens for ourselves, we are worthless. O sacred human being, Allāhu akbar! Allāhu akbar wa li-Llāhi l-hamd. Why are you running around the streets? Those running around the streets belong to the category of animals, while you belong to mankind. Why are you shouting in the streets, O Muslims? What rights do you have? What is it, you demand? Doesn’t Allah the Majestic grant you your rights? He does. But you demand more that this. For what? For your animals. ‘For your animal’ means ‘for your wicked ego’. Leave it!

Let Allah the Majestic dress you in the robes of majesty befitting you as a sacred human being, so that, without having to shout, if you say “Allah” only once you could turn the whole world upside down. Say, “Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Hasbī Allāhu Rabbī, Allāhu Hasbī”, That’s what you must teach, O ulema! Teach these people, not to hang around in the streets. In the old days it used to be said, but the people of the end of times are all running around in the streets. Roaming the streets, saying, “what’s up?” “Let’s go there, we cannot go back home.” That’s the condition of people today. No! They don’t know what they want. They don’t know what they’re doing.

Here you go, O Shah Mardan. Come on, explain it! Is it a handful of provisions that they want? There it is. Beyond that, what do you want? Do you want this world? This world is not just a handful. This world is a treasure chest reaching from East to West providing for so many thousands of thousands of creatures. It may suit you here, but in the hereafter it is useless. Be a man! O Islamic world, be men! Don’t be animals! Say, “Rabbī Allāh” (My Lord is Allah) say: “Hasbī Allāh” (Allah suffices me), don’t be afraid. Stay in your homes, your provision comes to you. May Allah dress us in the beauty of true faith! Fashion does not make a human beautiful. No benefit comes from fake decorations. O our Lord, dress us in the robes of servanthood. To become Your servants makes heavens and earths tremble: “A servant of Allah, ‘Abdullah!”

O our Lord, for the sake of this holy month send us someone from Your blessed servants to inspire us and wake us up! Here you go, O Shah Mardan, Your soulful supplications are not rejected. Let us get together with his close companions. Let’s learn and practice adab, you have everything. A human, whose desire is this world, his value is in the category of animals. Those, who desire the hereafter belong to the category of businessmen. Beyond them are those, who desire the Pleasure of their Lord – they are the sincere, the ones who are accepted in the (divine) Presence. Here you go, Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. They should change, these people. Let us change, let us know our Lord. O our Lord, forgive us! For the sake and sanctity of this holy Ramadan send us a master, send us a sultan! We’ve fallen into the category of those who have no apparent head. Send us sultans to educate us, O Absolute Sultan!

Whose desire is this world, he is an animal. Whose desire is the hereafter, that is the rank of servanthood. Draw closer, see to drawing closer! This world drags man away from his Lord, so don’t crave it! This world takes one away (from Allah). Shah Mardan (and companions) are not bringing us closer to this world but to the hereafter. Shah Mardan, your brethren adore you lovingly. How wonderful. May our inside be pure; may our dresses be robes of awe-inspiring majesty, may our food be halāl (permitted), may our appearance be beautiful! O our Lord, forgive us, for the honor of Your noble Beloved! Let’s tear it down!

Among the servants of Allah Most High there are the likes of Shah Mardan, who are not taken to account and who will turn this whole world upside down. Show adab and you will find them. Don’t sleep! Don’t say, “I want this world!” Don’t run after this world from the moment you open your eyes! Those running after this world are garbage like this world itself; it is nothing but a carcass. O our Lord, O our Exalted One, O our Sultan, Yā Muhawwil al-hawli wa l-ahwāl hawwil hālanā ilā ahsani l-hāl. From the East a sun of majesty and power rises like a dragon moving along its course, filling the whole world with radiant light. In the evening it returns. Where it returned to Allah knows. Is there one sun? Are there two? Allah knows. O our Lord, make our hearts full of faith! For the honor of Your Beloved (sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam), let no doubt or ambiguity remain! Let’s find honor through Your servanthood!

Open your eyes, say, “Allah”, Don’t be afraid! This evil world is under your feet, the heavens are above your head. Look high above, don’t pay attention to what’s under your feet, because looking at it lowers a person’s rank. Don’t focus on the earth, mountains, stones, gold, silver. Don’t pay attention to them. If you do, your worth diminishes. Your worth is not this world. Here you go, O Shah Mardan. your brethren adore you lovingly. Get used to it, let’s learn adab!

O our Lord, dress us in the majesty of this blessed month of holy Ramadan, dress us in well being in Your service. May performing our duties be made easy! Let’s say, “Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim” How wonderful! Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. O our Lord, we are Your servants. We are plunged in confusion, send us a sultan, O my Lord! For the sake of the Almighty’s Beloved, send us a sultan, send us power! O our Lord, You are Exalted! “Subhāna Rabbika Rabbi l-‘izzati ‘ammā yasifūna wa salāmun ‘ala l-mursalīna wa l-hamdu li-Llāhi Rabbi l-‘ālamīn”(37:180-182), Fātiha.

For the honor of Shah Mardan, Fātiha.

Shah Mardan doesn’t spur his horse once without reaching from West to East. Spurring their horse a single time they dash from West to East, Shaykh Mehmet Effendi. They are dragons! They don’t look at this evil world. Don’t look, my son! Let your gaze be fixed on the heavens! Let all your aspiration be only for heavens. On earth there is nothing for us. Fātiha.

May Allah increase your light, increase your strength, increase your majestic appearance! “Ad-dunya jīfa (the world is a carcass). This detestable world, this evil world, it’s nothing but a carcass”, he says. Don’t run after it, may your aspirations be high! May those, who listen to us, enter the way of Truth as well.

Please recite over me, Mehmet! Fātiha.

May Allah be pleased with you. Guard the attribute of being a servant. Get used to this!
